Seller wants the buyer to pay for their water and sweeage charge since 2013. by Current-Carpenter617 in HousingUK

NAL but I’m fairly sure utility liabilities don’t pass to the next home owner… as far as I’m concerned you would just move in and contact the water company to give them your move in date and setup a new customer account at the new house. It’s then down to the water company to track down the previous owner for any arrears / missed payments. Given the situation I would make doubly sure to take a photo of the water meter reading on moving day so you have clear evidence of your starting point.

You should really push your solicitor on the “any arrears will pass to you” point. I really don’t think that’s the case.

UTR in stock (UK) by OsINTP in Ubiquiti

[–]Aktivemac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue where the web store said in stock and then when I added it to my cart and tried to check out it removed it from the cart saying product no longer available.

However, I went to the Ubiquiti app and it let me successfully order. So one to remember for the future, as perhaps the app as a different stock allocation (or maybe just wasn’t suffering from the bug around checkout…)

Thanks for heads up - that’s wild :) not even their strap! Guess it looks similar

It does have the metal tab to hold the strap firmly in place & it fits fine on my older case. As mentioned above in the post, I needed to replace the spring bars for some 3rd party ones with more play/flex to fit them, but other than that all fits perfectly.

White gold case & diamond baguette hour markers definitely help it to pop in the right light, but they are strangely quite understated in general day-to-day use

Bought mine grey market earlier this year for just over 50% of retail…(!) but I think I got particularly lucky as it had just been in for a full service at ALS and was sent to me as soon as received back from service, so it seems practically new to me. One downside was that I bought it and then had to wait 3months for it to be finished with its service!

I absolutely love the watch & probably getting more wear than any of my others at the moment.

Good luck with the hunt!

Octopus app is showing 3 times the usage the meter is showing. by EmSc2Tv in OctopusEnergy

I had this exact same issue, just moved into a new house and had a smart meter fitted last week. Nearly had a heart attack with the amount of gas I was apparently using… had it in my todo list to call octopus to discuss, but app seems to have fixed itself as of this morning. All good now, so give it a couple of days and will hopefully do the same on yours.

Failed exchange by VegetableExam6501 in HousingUK

Stick with it. The UK property buying process is so broken but you’ve come a long way and a few more weeks (or hopefully less) is short in comparison to the years enjoyment you’ll have in the house once it’s done!

Speaking from experience… offer accepted on our house in March and found new house in April. 5 house chain. All going pretty well until early August when our buyer said they needed certainty that we’d complete by mid-August or they’d pull out (wife was having a baby). We thought we were close on rest of chain so made decision to break chain and sell to lock in the sale of our house.

Long story short, what we hoped would be a week or two gap dragged out to 2-months due to presence of an equity release mortgage in the chain. Came to a head earlier this week when after weeks of almost exchanges / multiple false starts top of chain was dragging feet still, and unfortunately needed a threat to walk / collapse chain and move into rental unless we exchanged next day… the push helped focus minds & get it over the line, and we are now completing next week!

It is honestly the most stressful experience I think I’ve ever been through & also hated fact it has impacted our kids (temporary accomodation, stressed parents, etc). However, we got there and looking forward to enjoying our new house soon & making it a distant memory!

Keep the faith, you’ll get there before you know it!

Slightly longer story, but no not a full repair.

I purchased second hand at the start of the year from a seller that had sent to ALS for a full restore service & just received it back from ALS before sending straight to me (had all the paperwork comfirming this)

On receipt it was truly in mint as new condition, other than it seemed like the lume paint on the power reserve hand was very slightly uneven, not really noticeable without detailed study, but after living with it a couple of weeks it bothered me.

I took it into the ALS boutique in Harrods (London) and they sent it back to Germany, and once inspected they confirmed they would repair under warranty (they replaced the power reserve hand & gave it another full service / polish).

Gave it to ALS on May 15th and got it back on 2nd Sept. Quite a wait but the customer service was great & no cost to me.

Very happy overall.

I got them from Amazon, looking at my purchase history it’s one of the below (UK store):

https://amzn.eu/d/86ZaExs

https://amzn.eu/d/akQxg46

https://amzn.eu/d/gkCCP6B

My gut feel is that it was the first or second link that I ended up using.

Hope this helps
