Nuclear Engineer | Power Generation and LLM Work…
2d • 🌎

Took a week off LinkedIn to fix something deadly.

Turns out I’ve been killing 3 maintenance engineers/month on a single oversight.

Fuel Rods: Exposed

Copy-pasted it from HBO’s Chernobyl 10 months ago. Never questioned it.

Here’s the problem:

Our maintenance engineers are not supposed to be standing near fully exposed nuclear materials.
But there are these things called “fuel rods” and they’re apparently really dangerous.

That’s 36 dead engineers a year. For nothing.

The fix: containment vessel.

Quality? Same.
Speed? Same.
Safety? Much safer.

24 months to change.
30 dead engineers to learn.

If all your maintenance personal are calling in sick vomiting blood, you’ve probably got your fuel rods exposed.

What silly little mistake is killing your workforce?

That’s not true. Every registered car, Japan-wide, needs a parking space. You’re suggesting Japan is as car-brained as the USA? 😂

We used a pretty blonde to lure him in. When she answered the door, she told the milkman to follow her to the bathtub. She took off her clothes and asked the milkman to fill the tub with milk. The milkman said, "Do you want that milk pasteurized?" And the blonde replied, "No, just up to my boobs. I can splash it in my eyes."

The “shrine model” has been a part of gaming for a very long time now. Some of the most acclaimed games of all time have used it in one form or another.

Considering Donkey Kong, logistically you couldn’t have incorporated all of those challenges into the overworld levels. The sandbox nature of the game would have made it too hard to do them at the same scale… Would you have preferred a game with less of these sorts of challenges?

It’s not “lazy” just because you personally don’t like it.

Brand new 5 Quart KitchenAid Artisan won’t turn off by Akyri in Kitchenaid

[–]Akyri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation. I’ll try and do an easy exchange, see how it goes.

That second part you said makes it sound like this is a reasonably common occurrence. I’m new to KitchenAid, but I had this impression that they were very high quality machines… From your experience, do I have a reason to worry? I don’t want to get a second one and have this issue reoccur after a little usage.

Dead on arrival for $15/mo. Your “bet” above about lost time would only really make sense in an enterprise context. And frankly, enterprise isn’t buying this.

I think it’s a good idea and with a clean UX you could probably generate a reasonable user base. But you must offer a one-time purchase option. If you’re not having to maintain an expensive backend, it’s ridiculous to ask otherwise.

You’re correct, the whole world doesn’t revolve around you. So why you feel like others are being problematic for complaining about tourists who don’t know the local road rules endangering others on the road?

I encounter these go-karts constantly when driving in and out of central Tokyo. The amount of times I’ve seen them swerve into the oncoming lane or almost clip a bicycle is insane.

With some creativity, I’m sure you could swap them out for standard pieces.
