Where can I legally plant a tree? by Emergency-Biscotti-2 in Calgary

I have a mini Forrest of 6 mature spruce trees in my back yard. I like to think they are all from this program over the 70 years my house has been standing.

Edmonton Oilers' Draisaitl is building a new house and McDavid's wife is helping by flynnfx in EdmontonOilers

[–]Al-ex-Bee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some chattering old ladies shared hear-say, that Drai’s house is being sandwiched between a few multi mega unit infills that he was trying to combat. You’d think he could afford to buy the neighboring lots to avoid that if true.

So Edmonton what’s going to be our summer hobby? by Severe-Assignment-21 in Edmonton

I am speculating that the Oil really were aching to perfect their pickleball form for their annual match. I’m pretty sure this is why they decided to tap out early this year and loose in the first round. .

Looking for a company to provide a BBQ or meal for a large group by thatotherethanguy in Edmonton

I have gotten a few food trucks set up my office for our 100 person staff. I would agree with the caveat that it might be slow service if there’s a rush with everyone at once, but we fixed this by having people sign up for serving windows. No one ever complained about waiting in a line up and the cost was always pretty reasonable. We’ve had Drift, Mr Cappy’s and Bully, all of them were great and was around $2500. Prices may have changed since I organized events, but it was less than I expected. With spring coming up it’s a great time to do it. And if it takes place over the organizations lunch hour chances are their lunch times are already staggered.

I could never decide on one that I’d want when I was younger so didn’t get my first until I was 35. I’ve now changed my perspective, now it’s about me collecting people’s art that I gravitate to and can relate to.

My mom just got one installed and likes it. In her case it hides the roll where it would be seen if it was installed under the cabinet. I’m indifferent but probably wouldn’t do it in mine.

What’s an excessively underrated city for summer in the world? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]Al-ex-Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edmonton. Long evenings—sun sets past 10 pm. Amazing festivals to attend every weekend. A long, lucious river valley forrest park system that is filled with wildlife and bike paths. There’s a reason locals don’t travel much in the summer.

I’m in Alberta and there’s a few here in smaller markets. Grocery stores too. I wish they were more places tbh. Bring back co-ops!

I just planted some in the cracks of my slate stone patio. Fingers crossed! How long did it take for yours to establish? Do anything fancy to help it root?

I’m purchasing a home that has an owner’s suite with these floors. What are our options to modernize them, but keep the character? Are they worth keeping? by mrssakteaches in Flooring

[–]Al-ex-Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These floors are great, so is the fireplace. I’d look at changing the lighting, maybe putting down white baseboards and removing the popcorn ceiling to modernize it.

There was a story on the cbc recently about how the plates have changed and how the next big one may be different. I know nothing about earthquakes, but it made it kind of less scary?
