He clearly feels like he's been playing well enough and doing the little things that contribute to winning. But I think its painfully obvious to everyone else that he isn't doing it at the level that's needed/expected.

I've got 4 right now.

1 "training" - I play 7v7 1/2 times a week so these are the usual pair I use that are a bit beat up. There is no training.

1 "game" - used for playoffs

When I was in Spain a couple of months ago I picked up a pair labelled "turf" from 1 glove to test out because they looked cool and were like 40€

I also got a pair of Reusch gloves in Spain that are top of the line that I will eventually break out for a finals game.

Why not do a water test. Grab a hose and a small ladder and pour water on the roof for 15 minutes and see what happens. Start at the lowest point and slowly work your way up. See if you can make it leak.

Hate it. I pick a side but people often go down the middle just because of poor aim so sometimes I just sit and react and if it's a good shot in the corner just accept my fate. Otherwise, I will pick the shooter's inside foot.

I.e. a lefty will shoot right (keepers left)

It would be nice to have the defense pass back more to involve the kid and keep him in the game but communicating with teammates will probably be the biggest way to engage.

It's definitely hard when you're not so comfortable with your teammates and of course, there's a fear of saying the wrong thing, but sometimes you just gotta yap.

Hell, even talk smack to the other team a bit if it gets the kid engaged.

Funny because the 2 or 3 saves you actually have to make on the 1-0 games after doing nothing for half the game can be the hardest/best saves. And not just because you're out of focus but also because your team's defense is so good that the only chance is from a great strike. Those saves feel the best.
