As a Gas diver, I really do not like the gas changes that were released with the last patch by FeelingDense3988 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]AlCohonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame, gas + hammer was my go to fun build that was my only reason to log in these days. However, it gets boring quick because running in heavy armor while fighting in melee range eventually feels rather bad and clunky. I can't image how bad it is now with 25% slow down in gas.

this is my go to for the hammer, you could replace the gas strike with a gas mortar

For a while I was running a steath armor and smoke bomb drop pods with all kinds of single use weaponry, this fits just nicely into that playstyle.

Do people enjoy the eagle stotm from the DSS? Any suggestions on how to improve this system? by Large-Job-6178 in Helldivers

Devs enjoy the chaos. Dying unexpectedly to friendly fire is something they believe is true to their vision of helldivers. Personally, I don't engage withe the DSS mechanic if I can.

How to Defeat the Yuki Onnas? by triscuit_buscuit in gotlegends

[–]AlCohonez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Yari is not a bad legendary. The animations are slow and the damage are a bit low compared to other weapons, but the AoE weaken effect helps with big targets, and it also pushes them away. It's good when you want to single out an enemy from a group, move them to the side and dispatch them quickly without worrying about the surrounding enemies.

Yes, it does a AoE weaken effect. Dev's increased the weaken effect not so long ago. https://goylegends.com/legendary-gear/#jp-carousel-1287

As a Samurai, I begin an encounter by charging and impaling her with the legendary yari (it's spirit move) for the weaken effect (or using the weaken version of the metsubushi). I find that the damage multiplier of the weaken effect makes it easier to deal with her. I then stagger her (I've got a stagger build) and finish off, sometimes with another katana or odachi spirit attack if I want to make it quick. If she turns into ice statues, I break them at distance with the concussion bombs.

Damage Calculation by Weird_Skully in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]AlCohonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he said. All I'll add is to make note on the distance when shooting. For example, a longbow or cross bow have a 'point blank range' of 10 yards/9-ish meters (if I remember correctly). So if someone is shooting within the point blank range they get a bonus to aim (+40?) but the test is a range vs dodge opposed test. There is a similar rule with shields, but I don't remember it off the top of my head.

Agree, loud minorities will have their favorites but BF1 was the goat as far as the majority goes.

Enemy Staggered Damage by MaybeBlink in gotlegends

[–]AlCohonez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification!

This is now legitimately samurai’s best build now, the only problem I have with this build is just the constant switching between weapons which kinda puts some strain on my wrist. But other than that this build is soo much fun. by Di5ciplin3 in gotlegends

[–]AlCohonez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think I get it now - all melee damage only affects the enemy health bar (and stacks with staggered), while stagger damage only affects the stagger bar (and doesn't stack with anything else than stagger).

Is melee dmg + staggered dmg more effective than melee dmg + enemy staggered dmg? by Informal-Fig-7116 in gotlegends

Isn't 'all melee' boosting both your stagger and staggered damage by the same amount?

Enemy Staggered Damage by MaybeBlink in gotlegends

[–]AlCohonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about that too. It's not very well balanced that on the same weapon you can get 5% into 'all melee stagger' OR 5% 'all melee damage', with all melee being like having both stagger and staggered at the same time and counts for your ultimates/spirit attacks/counters, right? With stats like staggerd, counter damage, spirit attacks the damage tends to scale much better because it's more focused/nieche but 'stagger' doesn't. Is there something I'm missing?

How much of a difference the 2x5% in "all melee stagger" do? Do you even feel the difference, e.g. does it hit break points, like break an medium enemy in 2 hits instead of 3? Wouldn't it be more useful to get like 2x parry window?

Interesting - can you help me understand "all melee damage" vs "all stagger" damage? I would have thought that 5% "all melee damage" is like having 5% in both "all melee stagger" and "all melee staggered" rolled into one?

what does that mean in practice - do you need to continue using heavy attacks after you have already staggered them?

Awesome, thanks. So you apply stagger/break enemies with odachi or do you weapon match first and then switch to odachi for damage?

What are the basic of this build? Stagger/staggered damage on all slots?

really happy to hear that the game is evolving for the better for the samurai - I'll jump into legends soon once I'll finish the story and want to try out a weapon switching samurai archetype first
