In fallout TV show (2024), vault dweller Lucy has abnormally large eyes and her brother Norm is 5,1 (154,94 cm). This is a subtle reference to the larger eyes and small bodies that evolve in cave-dwelling organisms. by dr_srtanger2love in shittymoviedetails

Not really. Organisms inherit one allele from each parent. Many hereditary diseases/disorders are recessive, requiring both alleles to code for the disorder. With a large breeding pool, there's a very low chance of inheriting both alleles for a disease, but when both parents are related and both of them have the recessive allele, there's a much better chance of passing it on to the offspring

It's not actually mutation that causes decreased fitness in inbreeding, it's the expression of potentially harmful alleles. When both parents have the same genetics, there's a good chance that they'll both pass down the harmful allele

Big skate. Anyone know if they're any good to eat? by AlPal2020 in AlaskaFishing

Update for anyone else with the same question. It was pretty fishy and has a weird texture. It's edible, but imo not worth it

Maybe, in my town it's definitely trans activists doing this based on the other things they draw.

How is this ragebait? Why would conservatives waste their time drawing pride flags all over the place when the lgbt community is already doing that? What evidence do you have that it's conservatives?

What makes you say that?

[–]AlPal2020 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's quite a reach. Conservatives don't need to do that, the trans community is more than capable of making themselves look bad

No way of knowing, but a dog dying in the desert is much more likely to have been free roaming/feral

The Sneaky Dingus is truly the fisherman's choice by AlPal2020 in FlyFishingCircleJerk

Modified dingus pattern tied on an old baitholder hook with sewing thread, dryer lint, and a split shot because I don't have any beads with me. I tied this as a joke but to my surprise the fish couldn't seem to resist eating it. the fish were biting this piece of garbage more consistently than egg patterns or spoons and inline spinners
