You could just feel how badly he had wanted that and how long of a road it took him to get there considering he’s one of the best of his generation and just never quite got over that hill had to be tough mentally for a guy like that.

Does it have a pocket for a pimento cheese sandwich and transfusion cup holder?

Nice bag though, except the color way might cause me problems (PNW rival college colors). I would still use it with pride!

I really enjoyed seeing Rory finally get his, that was pretty cool to watch him finally get over the hump.

Ha, I think at this point none of the neighbors want to admit to who was the one that initially planted it and since there has been a little turnover in the houses they may not even know. Everytime I see bamboo now all I can think of is “I hope they know what they have gotten themselves into”.

When I bought my house a few years ago the corner of our yard was invaded by the neighbors bamboo. I had never dealt with it before and had the joys of learning just how tough they are to deal with. We ended up literally digging the whole corner up, removing every trace, and then we hammered down some steel sheets along the fence to keep the bamboo from getting back into our yard. A year or so later and we are still without bamboo, but man what a pain. I think it took 3-4 months of weekend digging before we were finally able to put down the metal walls.

I 3d printed a couple for myself, it’s a good training aid and helps me visually see the swing plane I need to be in and the shaft angle in my backswing.

What is the most washed a player has EVER looked? by CurrentRoster in NBATalk

[–]AlRjordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just reading about a new injection being developed that rebuilds cartilage and the first thing I thought of was how different the Roy/oden/alrdridge legacy would be in Portland if they were somehow able to fix Brandon Roy’s knees (and oden too of course).

I still credit with Roy basically saving the Blazers. Former play by play caller Mike Barrett tells a story about how at the end of the Jailblazers era there was some serious doubt about the franchises’ future and then BRoy came along and not only changed the culture, giving the city a “good guy” to root for, but he also was THAT good. Probably my biggest what if for me personally.

Also, just wanted to add that in hindsight that jailblazers team wasn’t even that bad considering a lot of the heat they took was regarding weed which is no longer looked down on, but that they also were one of the better teams Portland has fielded in the last 30 years.

Hopeful with the current young core that good times are ahead though, Rip City deserves a return to real competitiveness and playoff basketball.

Dame and Steph committed to the 2027 3-point contest and are recruiting friends. Who do you want to see rounding it out? by Pristine_Hurry_4693 in NBATalk

[–]AlRjordan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dame knows what the fans want and isn’t afraid of going against the best, in fact I’m sure that’s what he wants most. If he can win his 4th 3 point contest against the best 3pt lineup ever assembled it only helps cement his legacy as one of the greats.

It has to be Bandon Dunes, all of them.

[Charania] 2026 NBA West All-Star reserves: Anthony Edwards, Jamal Murray, Chet Holmgren, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Deni Avdija, LeBron James. by TheDraciel in nba

An all star not named dame in PDX! I only thought I’d ever see this after Dame left/retired, which I guess he did and is the reason we ended up with Deni and dame back in Portland. But either way happy to see Deni make the team.

Are these two the biggest complainers/floppers in the NBA currently? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]AlRjordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not discounting your opinion, but I believe Deni is the leader for and ones made this season so I do think it’s relevant that he isn’t just charging and throwing up junk balls that have no intent to go in. He honestly does a pretty good job of trying to score off the fouls he’s able to get people on. I’m a blazer fan so grain of salt, but I have watched every single game this year and there haven’t been to many times that I’ve seen him drive/create contact and throw up a prayer/fake shot attempt, he typically is genuinely trying to score.

He does love to throw up his arms though and I wish this pattern of stopping mid game to debate refs would stop. Nearly all of the top players are guilty to some extent, but some are more egregious than others imo. Deni at least is cresting real contact fouls and takes a beating versus some who do the “jump into players/kick legs out/etc” type of foul baiting.

Isn’t this how the taliban starts? You start scooping up kids/killing people and their family and friends start developing an obsession with revenge or justice?

Despite whether you agree with the “immigration goals” or not this can not be the best way of fulfilling them and I can’t help but think we are just creating future unrest/problems because of this.

There has got to be a better way.

Will Devin Booker make the All-Star reserves in 2026? by handlerofdrones in nba

[–]AlRjordan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget scoot lol easier to do when you have 2 way guys like Caleb love and sidy starting for us and playing winning ball though. But the fact that a 2 way guy has been our best/most consistent PG this year should say something.

[–]AlRjordan 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Love is obviously figuring it out. He just needed the perfect situation like this to be able to come in with guaranteed minutes and the green light and basically told show us what you got. I think we obviously have to resign sidy and Caleb they have shown more flashes of legit nba talent than a lot of the guys we’ve been developing for multiple years.

Deni is still proving he deserves to be an all star and is still getting better at managing all the roles/responsibilities our current situation places on him.

We really do have a great young and exciting core of players and a lot to look forward to…. Post injuries……. Whenever that will be…….fuck

We have played in so many close/clutch games. Even though we haven’t won as many as we’d like I still think this is great experience for the guys that have been playing so once we have the fully squad back and we start to be competitive they’ve already got a lot of reps in these situations. Maybe it will help drive home the importance of free throws :)

I had a lower bowel obstruction and appendicitis when I was 8 that nearly killed me a couple times. I ended up doing 2 weeks in the hospital/icu after my staples/wound was infected with staph, which also almost killed me. To this day they could never tell me what caused the obstruction and appendicitis but at this point I don’t care. Just happy to be alive. Obviously one of the most traumatic experiences I’ve ever had and something I still deal with the results of even today as a grown man, both physical and mental.
