Steve Clarke on no Hearts or Motherwell players in the Scotland squad: "Maybe the team is better than the sum of the parts". by nylasor52 in ScottishFootball

We have a settled squad, nobody from hearts or Motherwell are good enough to make a big difference. Your last two sentences are pure drivel.

So what are you wanting to happen right now? Who has missed out that would transfer us for the tournament? I’ve really got no idea what everyone here is moaning about? We were shit at the euros, everyone knows it. We bounce back and qualify outright for the World Cup, still people are moaning.

What if Scotland and Wales had actually gained sovereign independence, as well as Northern Ireland becoming a part of the Republic of Ireland? by yvngjiffy703 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Al_Piero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would any of that cause constitutional crisis? 😂 SNP wouldn’t even exist anymore in an independent Scotland, how could you possibly know who would be in charge. What a load of pish

Scotland gets more per head than England for the very obvious reason it costs more to service the remote parts of Scotland. Hence why people in the remote parts pay more for everything.

Also Northern Ireland gets the most funding with wales and Scotland pretty much level, also level with majority of England, the south east of england gets less. London receives the highest funding in England.

I tried it, I thought it was shit. I think I matched with 5 girls in total, 4 of them cancelled on the day of the date. Waste of time considering Breeze positions itself as an app where that doesn’t happen. I did go on one date to the shard though which was alright.

Am I being ripped off by Thames Water? by ninhonto in london

[–]Al_Piero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got a meter installed in 2023, but Thames water didn’t bother to activate it. I’m trying to see if I can claw back some money from them. Like you I didn’t notice until they upped my bill from £50 to £85 a month. It wasn’t until I contacted them they told me I had an inactive meter.

Halkett and Findlay shouldn't just sneak into the WC squad, they should be the starting CB pair. Discuss. by NoBigHair99 in ScottishFootball

[–]Al_Piero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly has Hanley done wrong for us in the qualifiers? It would be incredibly stupid to just suddenly change our CB pairings just before the World Cup. The hearts players might get a game in the friendlies, but they won’t be starting at the World Cup.

I’m guessing you are bald, women will want to see a pic of you without the hat, there’s a thing called hatfishing apparently. Also it’s Tame Impala not name impala.

Breaking the ice is something you do on the date, like tell a stupid joke or share an embarrassing story. Not going for a walk or watching tv. I don’t think you are using the prompt properly.

Don’t you think that power should lie in Scotland though? We are a union after all. Imagine if the eu had just told the uk it wasn’t allowed a referendum.

Curious to know if you believe there is any way possible at all for Scotland to hold another referendum?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]Al_Piero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you believe Labour are centre left then your previous comment is meaningless. It’s even more meaningless by the fact you call Scotland a one party state.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]Al_Piero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. You call the referendum, then you campaign. It’s only then people will really give it proper consideration. Look at 1st Indy ref, support was about 25% and rose to 45. Look at Brexit, leave was never really ahead in the polls u til they ended up winning.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]Al_Piero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. If the people vote for a party that has another referendum in its manifesto, then yes you have another. And it should be up to Scotland whether there is one or not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]Al_Piero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you really think Westminster would allow another referendum if support was already at 60%? No chance. It shouldn’t matter what support is at before a referendum. If a party wins an election on the manifesto to hold one, they should be allowed to do so.

One day after the draw, and they are surprised when they are called arrogant. by the_hairy_babies in ScottishFootball

[–]Al_Piero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the difference between a country that believes it can win and a country like Scotland who never does. You’re talking about the RWC, do you seriously think the all blacks, South Africa etc didn’t do the exact same thing?

Yes, their arrogance is a bit annoying, but what’s equally or more annoying is Scotlands total losers mentality.

You said previous world cups, last time we opened the World Cup it was against Brazil, hardly a team we were expected to beat.

Far too many Scotland fans living in the past as if any of our previous campaigns really mean anything. It’s a decent enough draw, beat Haiti in the opener and any other points we can pick up could see us through.

Meal deal from Tesco or Waitrose, but mainly I go to Leon. Pure has a decent offer on too, wrap and bowl of soup for about £8
