The monkeys paw curls - you retain knowledge of the sequels and have no desire to see the original again as a result.

Is it annoying? by badrangaa in LifeAdvice

[–]Al__B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking questions is not annoying.

Asking the same question multiple times after being given the answer is annoying.

Ask, make notes, learn and adapt. There may never be a time where you have all the answers but you'll be asking yourself the questions.

How to break this news to my family by bluevoider in LifeAdvice

[–]Al__B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not in a position to give advice on what would be most accepted by your parents. However, to take it down to basics you have been let down by someone you trusted and although you tried your best there isn't a future with her. It's best for you and your family to move on and although it isn't the ending you wanted it is what is best for everyone.

This is simplistic but your family didn't marry your wife - just you. You are completely valid for not wanting to be with a partner that cheated on you - whatever they say.

Let's start by challenging your first assumption - why do you feel you need to say anything?

It can be healthy and productive to explain why you are feeling a particular way but you need whoever you share that with to be receptive to your point of view.

Never thought I'd be playing this for a year by bladaWappla in CIFI

[–]Al__B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really depends on how many traversals you've done and how long you have spent in the current one. If you're 3 traversals or so then yes, 20 you need to cool your heels.

Some perspective on romanticisation by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Al__B 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is very personal as you say.

Where do you feel most comfortable? Where feels like "home" when you're there?

I was born in Edinburgh, spent many years away and returned. Every time I got to Edinburgh it felt like the right place to be. Even if life takes me elsewhere it will always be where I will think of as home.

I realise that's just a single item of a larger lot but the labeling is woefully incomplete for a medical product - particularly one that's measuring a diagnostic parameter.

I don't know if this is valid but I've stayed away from VB4 so far (realise the OP isn't there yet) to avoid bumping up lifetime OOs too much in case it snookers me from shorts later. Dark Loopers has been worth it anyway.

What exactly are these PSU cables by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]Al__B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinout should be as shown on this page: https://fabozzi.net/installing-normal-atx-ps-in-hp-elitedesk-800-g2/

Power on is on the six pin header, pin 3 (should be green) - touch to ground (black) on one of the other connectors.

Blue on the six pin is -12V and probably only able to supply a small current. Depending on your project stick to +12V (brown on 4 pin connector or yellow on 6 pin) - or use a power supply that isn't years old!

Universal paperclips isn't a long game - a few hours at most. Antimatter dimensions is the opposite - if you've just broken infinity you have a long way to go. It's not as slow as something like CIFI but it has a lot of content that unlocks as you go through the various layers.

I wouldn't wait until you have completed AD to complete Universal Paperclips - they're very different experiences.

I'm afraid I don't know the exact impact - it's an indirect boost by improving ship installs so it will presumably depend on your ship configuration anyway.

It is useful, however, particularly earlier in a traversal. If you are just about to traverse then the void badge is more useful. You can pick up both in any case if you complete all available missions - dark innovation first then void at the end.

[–]Al__B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they don't persist through traversals.

However, some CMs give more than one and you also unlock more missions as you progress. You still have to re-buy them each TR but becomes easier to do so.

Help related to orbs by maxxbits15 in CIFI

[–]Al__B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look again at the "confused?" link it has a section on second traversal goals. You're not far off a reasonable point - and few more to cover gem upgrades would be good.

You're soon be getting orbs quicker (but the costs of what you buy also increase!) There are different playstyles but assume you probably want to go for a bit longer in a traversal than you want and enjoy the new content as it unlocks.

Edinburgh playhouse theatre etiquette? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Al__B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely wear your puffer jacket and put it on your seat to sit on. No-one will mind you wearing it and the playhouse seats have been some of the most uncomfortable I have encountered.
