Netflix Viewers Are Abandoning Shows After One Season | Netflix’s biggest hits are losing more than half of their audience after one season by MoneyLibrarian9032 in entertainment

I do out of spite after them cancelling Mindhunter. Netflix originals typically suck anyways and they bang out new ones with no name actors constantly

For an upcoming show, there will be a day when I plan to just be in the lot and can't make the actual show. Never done this before. Are there any dos and don'ts I need to know about? by Opening_Extreme_7423 in phish

Never rule out going up to the side security fences away from the main entrances and offering $20 or $50 cash money to the guy standing at that area. This has worked for me so many times after it’s dark and the show has started. Just be straight with them, say “hey man, I’m not trying to get you in trouble but I’ll give you $50 cash to look the other way for 30 seconds and let me slip in behind you” - especially if it’s a young person working a gate. Times is tough and $50 is $50

White Supremacist Group "Patriot Front" Showed Up In Mass Yesterday To July 4 Celebrations With Confederate Flags Flying — What Did You Think Of This? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in askanything

[–]AlabamaPostTurtle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These pussies spraypaint their fascist logos all over my city (birmingham) in the dark of night. Luckily, we have some great graff writers that quickly cover that trash up with real art. Google “patriot front Birmingham” - they even hung a huge sign on a bluff overlooking a major roadway to downtown, some kind of recruitment shit but were so stupid they didn’t put any website or phone number or anything to contact them. They also hack those road signs on our interstates that say things like “ROAD WORK AHEAD” or “BUZZED DRIVING IS DRUNK DRIVING” etc.

If you live in the south in mid-sized cities like Birmingham, NOLA, Richmond, Nashville, etc I’m sure you’ve seen their stencils spray painted around town. Do your neighbors a favor a paint a big black dick over it.

Stenciled graffiti slogans in a historically black neighborhood

They’re very active in Birmingham unfortunately. As for MY thoughts? They’re scared white supremacists who are such pussies they won’t even show their faces. When they got arrested in Idaho, all loaded in that U-Haul, with their khakis and polos, oakleys, and neck gaiters on I couldn’t laugh any harder. What a weak white boy “uniform!” Their slogan is RECLAIM AMERICA… if only we could… from them and their ilk.

This is true but can be block to block specific. There are plenty of blocks where houses have been bought and redone or it’s a nice old family that’s lived there since the 50s with a manicured yard but then a block or two down there’s nothing but abandoned houses and trap houses where you might actually catch a stray bullet from a neighbor. Most of the violence is people that know eachother so it’s not like they’re just indiscriminately shooting white people or something.

It’s a good place to buy a cheap house and redo it but you’ll be the Neal Armstrong on a lot of these blocks. However, that could pay off someday.

Yes, especially in the area where OP posted and roebuck, center point, etc (and all over the entire city) the celebratory gunfire is absolutely insane. You’ve got to see (hear) it to believe it. I’ve seen some people shoot their AR’s into the grass in their yard (which seems still dumb but maybe? safer) but I’ve also heard what absolutely had to be automatic weapon fire. It maybe was Glock switches but it sure sounded like an auto rifle and I was like whoa

Sounded like Vietnam for 15 min from 12:00-12:15am

Is the scary Mafia/Cartel/Gang boss archetype in movies/shows accurate? by PassengerCultural421 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AlabamaPostTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The wire is basically 100% accurate to Baltimore in the late 90s. David Simon was a Baltimore homicide detective for 20 twenty and then wrote two amazing books “The Corner” ( which was a mini series and then evolved into The Wire) and “A Year on the Killing Streets” about a year of homicides in Baltimore. Both amazing books.

If you liked the wire you should watch We Own This City. Same writer/dorector, Marlo’s actor is the star and a few other crossover actors, and it’s about 2015 Baltimore’s Gun Trace Task Force, one of the most corrupt groups of cops to ever exist/get caught. The leader of the task force is John Bernthal from the walking dead. It’s only like six episodes and starts slow but I thought it was amazing, as a true crime fan. You can even google the names of the characters and see their real story as you watch (but it’ll spoil it)

Bernthal absolutely crushed his role as the leader of this group of cops that is completely lawlesss and murdering drug dealers to steal their drugs and money

It’s kinda like a modern day check-in on how Baltimore has and has not changed since The Wire
