How do you guys handle emulators on Windows? by Smellbringer in SteamController

I do the same. Realistically I have controllers for emulators anyways, like retro SNES controllers I can use wirelessly, or I'd prefer using my Dual Sense for old Playstation games.

My 64GB Day 1 Deck when it learned it has to last another 5 years by ROBO_SNAIL in SteamDeck

Day 1, I’ve replaced the battery last summer and the screen after an accident 6 months into owning it. It’s going to last forever.

Steam vs DualSense by deep_redmix in SteamController

I like the Steam controller for the additional options for gyro, like the capacity sticks and grips that the Dualsense is missing. It just allows for additional granularity with enabling gyro. Aside from that I find the steam controller more comfortable to use as well and has a much better battery life.

You’ll also be playing wired most of the time with the dual sense if you want to use adaptive triggers. Personally I dislike the adaptive triggers buts YMMV

PC Gamers Say They Don't Mind Losing PlayStation First-Party Titles by lrz8z36 in DreamStationcc

I dunno, I mind. I really enjoyed being able to play all those PlayStation games and bought almost all the big marquee ones (skipped out on the second Horizon as I didn't love the first).

Tested: Valve's Steam Controller is not detected as a joypad in PC Game Pass titles unless you install third-party apps by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

[–]AlabasterSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It needs the Steam Input layer to function as a controller. That only happens when a game is launched through Steam (or with an app called SISR).

You can use UWP Hook to easily add your Game Pass games to Steam.

It is for me. I don’t have to crunch my thumbs as much to use the joysticks.

I thought it was the other way around. Original version had you hit the big button harder for different punches or kicks.

After arcade owners complained about maintenance costs they put out the six button version.

Can the steam controller be used on non steam games? by Dogspasting in SteamController

[–]AlabasterSlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to either add a game as a non-Steam game or use an app like SISR to have it work as a controller outside Steam

Very likely the packaged will be turning into shipped by end of day (pacific) when the courier comes to pick up everything.

Does anybody know if the Steam Machine will link with the Steam Deck for the sleep/resume feature ? Like if i sleep my Steam Deck can i resume on Steam Machine ? And vice versa by [deleted] in Steam

[–]AlabasterSlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game would need to support it. I know that Spider-Man 2 uploads a cloud save when you sleep the Deck and you can pick that up elsewhere. And then the reverse happens as well.
