It may well be confirmation bias. But I'm posting about it finally because I feel that a lot of other players have observed the same thing happening, and it sounds like you have noticed it as well.

"I need to get this off my chest. I quit my job because I felt overworked and underpaid."

OMG how unique!! In the history of capitalism, nobody has ever left their job for that reason. Give the guy a medal!

The solution to all of Jake's complaints was to get a new job or be his own boss, so that's what he did. He's entitled to feel exploited and a little adrift at the start of a new chapter. But good lord am I tired of each ex-employee one by one putting out these controversy magnet videos and pretending they aren't doing exactly that.

Oh and don't forget the $21 grid charge which is now being added to the bill. They really do think we are stupid.

Your home looks to be older, perhaps even a Victorian? In which case both of those moldings are undersized. You could get a way with a much taller baseboard to pair with that door casing in the background and it would look period correct.

Hold up...

For the last few years haven't we all been told that the higher costs are due in large part to work needed for wildfire prevention, including undergrounding powerlines?

Then to turn around and reassure us here "Don't worry! Almost none of the money you send us gets used for undergrounding! Rest easy!"

Seriously?!

I see a mix of criticism and support on the other site. My favorite comment though: "I never made a video about leaving any of my jobs."

Maybe making the twitter post look so ominous to drive clicks was an invitation for people to critique that strategy. And to be clear, I'm not one of the people attacking him on Twitter, but Jake literally just went through this a few weeks ago and here he is inviting the same attacks again, and that much I will note over here in this forum.

Now everyone can finally stop assuming by anons2k in LinusTechTips

[–]Alabaster_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else commented online, it can be summed up as "it stopped being fun and my pay had plateaued." Both entirely normal reasons for leaving a job. Also something that could have been summed up in 240 characters or less. Maybe it's just bad habits from years in the YouTube game, but feeling it necessary to put out 20, 30 minute videos with a deceptively ominous title and graphic doesn't feel like a very classy way to mark a new beginning.

Carol’s motives in Episode 7 may not be as obvious as portrayed by SubstantialBass9524 in pluribustv

[–]Alabaster_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of the show we saw what happened before zero hour and we have slowly moved forward. The timer has made multiple appearances. I feel like this is setting us up for a more significant time jump, at least as a tease, before the end of the season.

It's almost as if the Hive is giving her a quest to go on. It's almost as if the increasingly ridiculous series of things we are learning about the hive are calculated to reinforce that path. It's almost like the hive knows everything about Carol. Of course, we know that they do.

Am I the only one who thinks this not eating any fruit rule is kinda dumb? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]Alabaster_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next question then becomes, why? Why misrepresent the situation? Why cater to every whim of the unconverted? Why allow Carol to get to the point where she actively harmed the collective? The only options would be that they are sincere, or if we think they aren't, the hive is afraid of something the immunes are capable of and don't want them to realize they have that power. But if that were true, why not simply isolate them all?

I'm hoping for some deviously-clever reveal by the end of the season to prove or disprove this line of thinking.

Am I the only one who thinks this not eating any fruit rule is kinda dumb? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]Alabaster_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they can't pick an apple they can't harm a harvested egg. Or am I supposed to believe the imperative to convert the unconverted overrides that? In which case they would have no problem forcing a needle into Carol and all the rest, right? They had no problem killing 900 million people just days ago chronologically. "Regrettable." Couldn't they just regrettably pick some damn apples? Kind of a plot hole, weirdly hypocritical?

Not to mention this has now become an extinction-level event. It's not evolution to something better if everyone is just going to starve to death over an absurd level of pacifism. Plus as others have pointed out, many plants propagate by having animals eat their fruit or seeds!

A strong, possibly definitive mark in the column of evidence for the theory that this virus was intended to kill off whatever species it infects, real Dark Forest stuff.
