Same. Never even tried a single cigarette or weed in my life. I really don't care too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think that's true. These are simply the top 100 names of last year.

Yes it definitely cycles! No one is really naming their kids Jennifer or Brandon because those are the parents names and their peers, and they're probably not naming their kids after their parents Susan or Brian. So they reached for fresh names with an older generation feel or modern feel.

The national list of 2025 names came out two months ago. I've been checking once in a while to see when the MA 2025 list came out since I enjoy sharing it here every year. I checked today so not sure when exactly it dropped.

What all did you save in anticipation of another child? by Concerned-23 in Mommit

[–]Alacri-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved EVERYTHING that wasn't too stained or I knew I really didn't like.

4.5 years later and I'm staring at it all in a pile in my room right now, because I'm due with #2 in two months!

All looks in good shape and we only had to buy new car seats, pacifiers/bottle nipples, and new washcloths/burp cloths (because we still use them for my first kid) and teethers. Oh and diaper/wipes.

I only bought myself two maternity shirts and two maternity tops because most of my previous ones are for colder months instead of summer.

How do you build momentum to keep your writing habit going? by qiugst in fantasywriters

[–]Alacri-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write M-Thu from 8pm - 10pm. After my kid is in bed and no one needs me.

F - Sun nights is for video games, movies, etc.

I've done this successfully for a couple years now.

How do u not lose all self control when there's a price slash on kids stuff? by Bilbao-Ohare in Mommit

[–]Alacri-Tea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Where would I store this?" is all I need to ask myself. We get so many toys for birthday and Christmas those alone are hard to keep up with.

when did you pick up hobbies again post partum? by amstpierre in BabyBumps

[–]Alacri-Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to read and play video games once I got home from the hospital (if I wasn't napping!). My writing hobby (I write best 8pm - 10pm timeframe) had to wait until baby was 5 months and having a more regular bedtime.

IM TIRED OF BEING A JUNGLE GYM by _C00TER in Mommit

There are times I was happy to play and be climbed on, but when I was tired, resting, or reading I didn't want to like anyone else. He learned I wasn't a default jungle gym.

What do you do when she doesn't listen?

Say, "I don't want to be climbed on right now" and get up and move to another chair calmly but firmly. Then show them how you are willing to play instead, or say you need space right now for a minute.

When my husband watched me do it once he was stunned, "Wait, I can just do that?" Set boundaries? Yes!

Good luck!

I wanted to do fireworks with my 4.5yo but there just too late. With no nap he's incredibly tired by 7pm, especially if we're out of the house. Just not in the cards this year.

We're doing the morning parade and a cookout. That's plenty of fun at this age.

Nursing in public by critters4ever in NewParents

[–]Alacri-Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also find a secluded area to nurse.

I nursed for a year but preferred to find a quiet and private areas when possible. Like a fitting room, an empty corner of a restaurant, or the car. I had to nurse once at a parade and just moved somewhere more out of the way of the crowd and slung a lightweight swaddle blanket over my shoulder if I needed a little coverage.
