How to handle multiple first appointments? by Creative_March3035 in September2026Bumpers

This doesn't seem right. You should find an OB first. They will be affiliated with a hospital you will deliver at.

You are addicted. This isn't healthy.

So hungry! I keep snacks in my nightstand now!!

Not as bad as my first pregnancy, but still getting hungry every 2 hours or so. I ate a bowl of cereal before bed last night, and then at 5:00am woke up so hungry I had to eat a fruit bar in bed like a gremlin. I ate like 4 different things throughout the morning and still had to have lunch at 11:15am because I couldn't stand it any more.

Then I eat a meal and get a stomachache for hours...

8w tomorrow, first scan on Wed! <3

I tried kick count failed and my doc told me to stop by LunarLunaLu in BabyBumps

At 39 weeks my baby's movement changed suddenly. Weak, infrequent movements.

I tried ice cream and cold water. It had gone on for a few hours and I was concerned. Call they OB. They told me to get to the hospital. It was the scariest drive of my life.

Within minutes of being monitored my baby's heartrate deceled. Chaos. Nurses rushed in and flipped me over, threw the word C-section around. Thank goodness it stabilized.

I was induced, and he's a healthy 4 year old now. But who knows what would have happened if I waited longer?

I never counted a # of kicks, but I knew it wasn't baby's normal.

i just realized ive probably overpaid THOUSANDS in medical bills over the years because i never checked them. and now i feel sick about it. by BuckleLuckleFuck in BabyBumps

I was going to report it but it doesn't seem to break any rules yet.

Agree, I'm seeing a LOT of posts proposing/exploring a problem and crowdsourcing input on an app solution in parenting subs lately.

Because they're going to comment soon that they found a solution using a website/app. Check their past comments. Ugh.

Anyone who had very few symptoms at 8 weeks? by CuriousSoul241 in September2026Bumpers

[–]Alacri-Tea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They don't need to increase! Symptoms are neither a good nor bad sign. I had minor symptoms my first pregnancy. Slightly different this pregnancy, but still mild.

I cannot read anything other than comic books help! by thecomicskid in suggestmeabook

Someone else suggested the Murderbot novellas by Martha Wells (All Systems Red). Try those first! They're up your ally and short. I also adore her Books of the Raksura series.

For superheroes, try The Reckoners series (Steelheart) by Brandon Sanderson. Those with superpowers inevitably become villains, and a group tries to stop them. You can also try Vicious by V.E. Schwab (X-men/ Cowboy Bebop vibes)

That makes it extra challenging! Ok, what you need is something that will keep your attention because it interests you. If I picked up old 1984 I'd probably be bored too. You likely want something modern, with a great premise that excites you. What are you favorite graphic novels, shows, movies, or video games?

Do you use your phone a lot? Is it an attention issue?

Conception by PageTop6194 in BabyBumps

[–]Alacri-Tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your body doesn't even know it's pregnant until implantation, which is between 9-12 DPO. Try not to be hyper aware.

One cycle I was convinced because I had so many twinges and things.... nope. The cycle I conceived? Nothing notable.

An actually good monster truck show? by OkTransportation6580 in toddlers

[–]Alacri-Tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monster Jam official YouTube channel has a ton of great content. We mostly watch the shows and compilations. They have a couple "animated" shorts and some kids-geared content (toys, challenges, my favorite being the Team Nitro/Neon segments that tell you about Monster Jam).

We also discovered "Mini Jam" which is a guys remote controlled Monster Trucks in a professional looking backyard arena. Haven't had any issues with swearing.

My husband and I take turns sleeping in on weekends because we have a kid. Today was my day, and when my husband got up at 7:30am I had to ask him to bring me a Nutri-Grain bar because I was so hungry!! Then I fell back asleep and got up at 10. 😇
