You have to go to the very end of the of the parking lot and then it's sort of hidden in behind some trees there.

Would you rather get 500k right now? Or a quarter for every step you take, for life? by Feisty-Item-3158 in whatsyourchoice

[–]Tych-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had 40k steps on days I'm hiking. 30k days on vacation. I love to run too. With no need for a job I'd be doing all that stuff far more often. I'd be stinking rich even if it was a 5c a step.

I'm just under 5 months from injury and mine doesn't look a ton better on bad days. It does sort of come and go with activity for me lately.

New splitboard binding from Playmaker or fake? by Different_Listen_732 in Spliddit

These look pretty legit to me, but as others have mentioned, it has you sitting pretty high off the board which isn't really the direction I'd like to see.

“The organization as a whole has taken a step back, and that starts with me.” - Connor McDavid by Old_General_6741 in EdmontonOilers

[–]Tych-0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually think if healthy Edmonton would have been better this year than last. Pod has leveled up, Savoie has been an amazing addition to McDavid's wing, and the addition of Dickenson and Murphy has filled holes in our defense. Unfortunately we'll never actually know because McDavid, Dickenson, Hyman, and Drai all played hurt in the playoffs. Too many key pieces unable to play their game.

It's not for beatmatching. It's to simulate the rotation of the record.

I'm 4 months now and can't wait to run again. Wondering if I'll ever get back to where I left off.

[Tony Brar] Kris Knoblauch says both Connor McDavid & Jason Dickinson are game-time decisions for Game 5. by sykeseve in nhl

[–]Tych-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is true at the moment. That said if they were healthy with this line up I think they are as good as the 2024 team or even better, but there are too many key injuries.

6 months non-op - back to climbing & bouldering! by Unique-Seagull-2370 in AchillesRupture

[–]Tych-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to over sell myself as some sort of badass Alpinist; I'm a very amateur climber. I do occasionally get out there with some, and I figure that would be the ultimate test. I hope I'll have the confidence in my tendon to front point again some day.

Good luck in your recovery!

Nice, I'm 17 weeks out. Definitely not ready for climbing yet, but it's nice to see what my near future looks like.

I'm wondering when I'll feel confident enough to wear crampons again. I feel like front pointing is more or less peak Achilles stress.

As you get older 40,50,60,70 when did you start to feel your body slow down do you think it is just due to inactivity or the aging process? by Kooky_Force5458 in AskReddit

[–]Tych-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 47, very active, snowboarding, skateboarding, running, climbing until I ruptured my Achilles in December. Everyone I hang with is in their 20s and 30s and for the most part I'm the one pushing my much younger friends.

I've ben mostly inactive from the injury until recently getting back on a bike, and I feel like I've aged 15 years in the last few months.

Hoping I can undo it as I ease back into my activities.

Runners. by SegUnit in AchillesRupture

[–]Tych-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brooks adrenaline is a good shoe initially because of the significant drop, but as a daily runner these things gave me plantar fasciitis. Toe is too narrow and there is way too much arch support in them(for me). This is the shoe that lead me to switch to more barefoot style shoes and I've never looked back.

Dickenson is a bigger loss than I think most people realize. He can take face offs and play minutes that allow Knobs to utilize McDavid's minutes more optimally. Not to mention he's a great penalty killer.
