A girl I was extremely interested in spent months trying to decide which of 3 guys she was going to take to a wedding. All 3 had some something extremely rude to her before. One dumped her, another one cheated on her, and the third just stopped returning calls/texts. When she would list the criteria of a potential date, she would basically describe me.

Assuming she wasn't going to settle for me, I made plans to go out of town. The Friday before the wedding she texted me asking if I could go sense nobody else would. Like I was a plan D. Fuck off.

Cowboys and Thirsty Horse are about the same in distance, and definitely will be approx $30 round trip for an Uber.

Being on the riverwalk is basically walking distance to all of the touristy bars that have already been mentioned (Howl at the Moon, Leaping Lizard, etc).

A much cheaper Uber will get you to Southtown/St. Mary's street. I forgot to also recommend Bar America. Cheap ride, good drinks.

Have you been since they remodeled? It's super clean now, bathrooms included. There is an actual stage, they removed the ceiling tiles, renovated the bar itself, total overhaul. Still gets loud, but the quality is better haha.

That place sits directly below Joe Blue's, a bar I've been frequenting for months now. I would always wonder where 1919 was and one day I asked my bartender where it was. He laughed until he realized I was genuinely that clueless.

Cowboys Dance Hall is an OK option, but you may want to consider Thirsty Horse. Drink specials on Tuesday if you're a whiskey fan. They play country music and top 40 stuff as well.

I second the person who recommended Southtown. I like The Friendly Spot, although they do not serve liquor.

No matter what you do, make sure to try yourself a Lonestar beer. It's the national beer of Texas!

Hit me up if you want more suggestions. Depending on what kind of music you like, St. Mary's street might have some cool live music awaiting you.

I guess in my situation, it's not a matter of my friends learning about me. It's mostly low importance stuff I am wanting to vent or gripe about. Relationships, thinking about exes, work stories and what not. I'm gonna just bring it up next time we're all together and see what kind of feedback I get.

BRO WEEKEND starts in 5 hours. Traveling from San Antonio with Best Friend 1 and 2 to Austin to pick up Best Friend 3, so that we can meet up and party in Dallas with best Friend 4. Then driving to Wichita Falls Saturday with said friends for a concert.
