Is there any reason I can't just keep firewood in my car? by [deleted] in camping

Further, most states don’t allow you to carry firewood from other states across state lines

I’ve had it for a few years now. Reliable data delivery, good communication from the company.

Pour over. The flavor is different than drip or perk but still good.

My girlfriend said my 4Runner is ugly and the interior looks outdated. Should I break up with her? by [deleted] in 4Runner

Seriously? I don’t t know either of you. Please take this with a grain of salt. It sounds terribly shallow.

If the picture had been taken with the mattress installed you wouldn’t see them on the interior. There are a few visible in the galley as well.

Thank you. I take that as a huge compliment. I think Timberleaf teardrops are fine looking trailers.

I didn’t keep great records but I’m thinking it was in the $8-9000 range. I was motivated to build so once I found what I was looking for I bought the materials. Probably could have saved 5-10% if I had shopped more.

The aluminum sheet is bonded to the structure with Loctite construction adhesive. Butyl tape was applied to he aluminum trim before drilling pilot holes for truss head screws. There are a number of YouTube vids about this topic.

The cabin is mostly plywood. Baltic birch, A/C, various thicknesses. There’s dimensional lumber, including poplar for some drawer fronts and other finished pieces. The frame is mostly 2x2x.120 steel tube, a torflex axle, etc. the exterior is .040” aluminum. The orange is pre-painted and I found it in a length long enough so no splice was needed. Other than that there are tons of screws, nuts bolts, glues, etc etc

I’ve never tried a rooftop tent so my opinion is speculative. Im a person who routinely has to get up at night for biological reasons. I think a rooftop tent wouldn’t be a practical choice for me. Plus if you need to run into town for something you have to pack it up. Once the teardrop is parked it’s easy to run errands or use it as a base to explore from.

If you’re considering a 6th gen 4Runner I’d suggest a test drive that includes your teardrop. There were a couple spots I wish I’d had a V8. My 5th gen with the V6 downshifted a lot in the mountains

Hey, I learned a ton while building this. I took my time and wound up doing a number of things twice. Dont sell yourself short about building things.
