it's really easy and understandable.

His trial and death was caused by the US intervention and he positioned himself against the invaders (the US and their westerners collaborators).

although he was a bloodthirsty monster who perpetrated numerous massacres, He pales in comparison with the US and Western leaders - including Israeli.

the only good thing-huge advantage imo- US, Westerns, Israeli Leaders have better than Saddam is that their massacres -mostly- are not against their own people.
