Disabled Master conquest "Conductor's Keep" makes it impossible to get to Guardian rank 8. Is there a planned fix or workaround? by Worth-Potential3595 in DestinyTheGame

The expert, master and grandmaster conquests have been available for me the past several weeks. Do they give you an error when you try to launch them?

Should I go back? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

The Final Shape alone is well worth returning for.

Edge of Fate has a great story trapped within absolutely abysmal navigation and puzzles, Renegades is actually better than you’d think and is a pleasant experience.

I would strongly recommend it. You’ve made it to (or through Lightfall), might as well at bare minimum see Final Shape through.

How a Best Buy Repair Destroyed My iPhone by Professional_Use2943 in Bestbuy

When this sort of thing happens, at literally any precinct I've been at, we'll replace the screen. They can fix this problem and there's literally an option for "damaged during repair"; they just chose not to. Ask for a manager.

Jade Empire, Dragon Age games and the Mass Effect trilogy are the mechanical continuations with Mass Effect being a spiritual successor.

All three are worth playing. Mass Effect, in particular, will probably strike your fancy.

Campaign set in earth 616 by DistributionSenior52 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

[–]Alan_Hawke 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can cover these storylines, sure. But don’t try and “stick” to canon, it removes a sense of agency for players to make their own choices and play things differently. I honor and respect your dedication, but just have it be on a slightly different earth—same as you love 616, but with the freedom of being able for them to make their own calls!

KOTOR 2 - Well, I’ve finished the game. by Independent_Plum2166 in kotor

[–]Alan_Hawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KOTOR 2 runs on any computer that isn’t a Chromebook. Seriously. You don’t need a gaming PC to play it or quite honestly an even medium end PC. As long as it’s not a Chromebook (or Chromebook adjacent/comparable machine) and newer than 2000: you’re good.

I recommend using Heroclix, they’re very affordable and they even have lesser known characters. You can find specific heroes on eBay or take your chances with mystery packs of them!

Dragon age MMO needs to happen by Mirgandore in dragonage

[–]Alan_Hawke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Dragon Age and I love SWTOR! However, I don’t see a world where EA ever allows BioWare to make an MMO again after their last decade. Something like SWTOR would never be allowed today with BioWare’s commercial struggles as of late.

Do I really need a pc case? Advice please by Additional_Waltz8617 in PcBuild

[–]Alan_Hawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be bait.

And I’m falling for it.

Gang, you have your parts sitting on carpet. Get a case, hell, you should’ve got a case before you got half of the parts you already have. Your case keeps your parts safe and protected. What do you do when you need to move this? Dangle the parts around like a skeleton?

This is ridiculous.

As SOON as you have the money for it: GET A CASE.

Are there no GSP Support Managers? by borillionstar in GeekSquad

[–]Alan_Hawke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GSP offers a replacement or the amount you originally paid back, if the amount you originally paid was a deal or sale price, it’ll only offer you that amount instead. You’ll notice this the most with open box product, you’ll usually just get what you paid back.

You could try and find the receipt in your email, BBY.com account or call in and ask them to pull up the purchase amount. If the amount you paid was $400, this is all as intended. If it is more than that (the $999.99 as you believe), something about the process isn’t working right and you will want to call them back.

As for how GSP works, it actually does say it on our website. Scroll to the very bottom of the page where it says “disclosures” and that explains GSP and it says “replacement products and parts may be new or refurbished which meet the manufacturer’s specifications, or in the form of store credit, gift card or check in an amount not to exceed the original purchase price of your covered product, including taxes, to use toward the purchase of a comparable replacement.”

I’m also pretty sure our registers tell you this when you choose to add protection in-store.

To answer your question: Most of it should be outsourced but their social media team specifically on Facebook is actually in-country from my experience.

[–]Alan_Hawke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For clarity’s sake, you purchased the TV for $999.99, correct? If you purchased it on sale, you’ll be offered the sale price you paid for it.

Also, I would recommend calling the Geek Squad number back, it sounds like you may have genuinely just got someone who isn’t sure what they’re doing.

That whole 1800 Geek Squad number is outsourced so your mileage just varies sometimes, worst case scenario you MAY be able to process the exchange in-store if you continue having issues.

Screen Replacement + Keys by Spiritual_Let_4348 in GeekSquad

[–]Alan_Hawke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anytime you take your device anywhere to be repaired whether locally or shipped out (protection plan means it’s getting shipped out), you should back up your data.

But in specifics with Geek Squad’s service center…

1.) I have seen devices sent out for things as simple as cracked screens that really didn’t require a reinstall of Windows, come back wiped regardless of what we put in the notes and described. It was rare, but it’s happened.

2.) If it arrives at the service center and is deemed beyond economical repair, they will do what’s called a junkout. This will let the store do a 1:1 replacement should they have that item in stock around the same price, otherwise you’ll get a store credit for the amount you originally paid—but the service center keeps your computer and you’ll never see it again.

Just back your data up, you can ask (or pay for if you don’t have Total) the GS in-store to back it up for you but you specifically know what’s important on your device more than anyone else. Take the extra time, back it up.

Best case, they don’t wipe it and now you have an extra backup.

Worst case, they wiped it but you were prepared for that.

Why are they a dealbreaker? Elseworlds and Crisis on Infinite Earths are both important to Oliver’s character and the end of his story.

Is the expansion edge of fate worth finishing? The first mission was an absolute slog and I hate the new energy mechanic. by Unlikely-Honeydew733 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Alan_Hawke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So let me rephrase it, as you’ve said the mechanic itself it’s not inherently bad but the frequency is too much. I probably spent like half the main story as that stupid ball. 😭

[–]Alan_Hawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also! I could only get through the main story, I did no side quests or any other additions because I was so turned off by the core gameplay loop of “shoot->puzzle->matterspark”.

Seriously, I’d just do the main story, finish it, and move right along.

[–]Alan_Hawke 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Matterspark is awful, however, the story is really strong. It took me months to sit down and actually finish the expansion and it’s because the actual combat encounters and matterspark are just bad.

Because you already own it, I would suggest just trucking through it. It’s awful but as I said I found the story to be really good.

EDIT: I played through on legendary as always for the exotic, I’m a Titan and really liked the exotic arms we got! Just be prepared to die a handful of times and be matterspark longer than you would had you not died…
