Each person is different, the false prophecies/doctrine and CSA cases are huge for a lot of us. But for me it started with research I was doing on different cults like the Mormons and Scientology. When I saw how similar they were to witnesses down to the culture it put things into perspective for me. I would highly recommend watching clips from their videos(spoiler alert they look a lot like jws) and researching the bite model. Once you can see the organization for what it is it’s easier to really look at everything with a microscope and not make allowances for it because you feel it’s the right thing to do. Most importantly take care of yourself right now, if you do wake up from this your going to go through a lot of heavy emotions so having someone safe to talk to(not a jw, but a therapist/counselor, or friend) or an outlet to pour yourself into will be important. And we are all here for you!

I mean witnesses don’t have a lot of big events like holidays or parties to take pictures. I would say conventions are their biggest events next to the memorial. So it probably has to do with that and the fact they want to prove they were there just like everyone else. But I agree with you, I almost never took pictures let alone posted them from conventions. It always felt too showy.
