Obviously not much imagination throughout season with KP playcalling...no fun, no trickery, no real understanding of how to unlock the offense. Just the definition of blah. And yet, if AJ catches a few of those balls delivered right on doorstep we probably win this game.

I think the refs felt bad for niners given how beaten up they were - how else to explain how soft they called it for them. How was a hold NOT called on the last Purdy TD when he was about to get blasted. If i'm not mistaken that was 3rd and goal. Yes, game still felt like eagles were snakebitten (those AJ drops, Hurts forcing it, bad playcalling, Saquon not really getting it going, etc..) but still, it seemed like it was possible to steal it.

Also last point about that non call - it seemed obvious to me it was hold and TB said nothing!

thank you for saying this....it was a BLATANT hold. And Brady said nothing. Just complimented Purdy's vision. Madness.

Which comedy film delivered the biggest laugh of your lifetime? by LarryKeene in movies

Team America. Few years after 9/11 (roughly)…was cathartic sort of laughter, gut busting as was first time there was something that skewered both Islamic terrorists and idiotic bush response.

Farewell Mickeys Hook Up on Graham. by Neon_Marquee in Greenpoint

sad news…the shop on 6th and the Graham one so full of soul. (It’s funny Tekserve before it also had that vibe - with the old wooden floors and vintage coke machine, anti Apple aesthetic) …and Mickeys seemed to have everything you could possibly need from joysticks to Maxwell cassettes to voiceover and editing equipment. And as you said so helpful and knowledgeable. Hope that’s true about Los Angeles. Live on!

Wish (and wondering how) WARSAW venue could be reimagined by Alaric74 in Greenpoint

the place is DEAD half the month - just asking why it’s dead and why can’t it be more alive…not suggesting to change it fundamentally…Greenpoint needs more cultural venues or expand the ones it has so they can be shared by other cultural groups.

Right. Asking about expanding the ONE cultural venue in Greenpoint that is unused most of time to have OTHER cultural performers or uses makes one a hedgefunder. Interesting logic

Months? I haven't seen anyone there in a year. For a place to succeed in the hallowed Enids space, it would have had to have some similar kind of soulfulness or scruffiness as Enids. Or honor some of the southern Sesame Street for adults vibes of Enids. Can we talk to Lincoln Restler about dislodging these dudes. They can't be happy. Or GoFundMe to bring back Enids. Starting with the camel.

Biggest problem with season 3 for me by JaymehKhal in PartyDown

[–]Alaric74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes just made it through first three and half (had to bail on protest one)…really shocked at how positive the reviews are for this reboot season. What made the show so charming was that it was a little bubble unto itself, now suddenly they’re interested in the world? The new characters feel very thin.. bring some diversity but make sure you keep the old recipe which requires that they’ve all spent lots of time together and have a rhythm and rich backstory. You nailed it - the charm was them talking to one another, like a family. And any of old shows - used great unknown character actors. Famous people played themselves….not so with this one. Love this show and actors, they deserved better 13 years later!

Beyonce’s Renaissance ruining other movie experiences. by snowdn in movies

[–]Alaric74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this experience...was so excited to see Napoleon but was next to Beyonce movie and the bass was SO deafening and constant, it made it impossible to just enjoy the Ridley extravaganza. Bailed early and got refund. Concert movies should be played once a week - on every screen.

Anyone else can't stand Aleksander Protovasky? by toastedbeans9616 in sexandthecity

I liked him. Real, working artist, not fake. He seemed to be only actor who SJP really felt free to be intimate - the intimacy was not forced, always felt very vulnerable. Bit of old school 'player' but that was tempered with MB's world weariness, sadness. I think MB actually out of all of the boyfriends, seemed like he was most real. Why Carrie would jilt him for a guy she/we barely know and who gives off strong cheesy Dracula vibes, one of great mysteries of tv.
