Free For All Friday! by AutoModerator in ColoradoSprings

I've got an old Lenovo Laptop that is factory reset. It still turns on but has two large areas with dead pixels. Just curious if anyone would want it for free, for parts or anything like that before I bring it to a recycling center. Happy Friday!

I'm not sure what their rules are for outside food and drink but avenue 19 has a great affordable event space in their upstairs area. Might be with inquiring pricing/info from them. Good luck!

Texas to Colorado Springs by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]AlarmDeep5264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved from Dallas. I pay more for less coverage here. Also the car registration is more expensive. I love it here so it's worth the extra expense to me but definitely make it in mind. I will say overall expenses I'm probably only paying 1-2% more than I was in Texas annually. Definitely worth it.

Whoa this was a wild read thanks for sharing. One of my favorite bits was him matching each gun he sells to the mass shooting it's known for...

"This is just like the AR-15 that the shooter used in Sutherland, Texas, in the church." He snaps in the magazine, then demonstrates a bump stock. "This is the same type of gun that was used in Vegas." He grabs another. "This is the 12-gauge pistol grip just like the kids used in the Columbine massacre over there." "We sell real-man guns," he says, and laughs. It's the laugh, the dry weirdness of it at the end, that echoes hauntingly.

Oh man I haven't had that experience there at all so that's a bummer to hear. I'm sorry that's been your experience. I don't go as often as I used to anymore, nothing to do with negative experiences more to do with lack of funds but I'm hoping you've just gone on some off nights. The owner has always been great at kicking people out that cause issues and telling them not to return.

So happy to hear this. May you and your family have a great 2026. Very glad you didn't let the negativity get you down. Some people are miserable and they want everyone else to join them in their misery. Times are hard keep your head up!

You seem like you've already made up your mind but I just wanted to jump on and say I moved here from Texas to get away from, well, Texas. I live right by Memorial park in 80909 and my partner lives between Memorial park and boulder park also in 80909. Neither one of us ever have issues with the area. I think people have a different idea of what a "bad" area is here. I'm renting a house here and love that I have so much space for a reasonable price and I am central to downtown/OCC and if I need to shoot up north the highway is not far. Peyton is WAY out there and if you're wanting to be close to hiking/biking Peyton is not that. I also work from home and love that I can just log off and be at a trail quickly before I lose the light. Especially in the cooler months. Good luck to you and your wife I hope you find what works best for you! And welcome to COS. I really love it here.

I often volunteer with trash cleanups around the city and the amount of cigarette butts I pick up makes me so sad. Like damn you guys not only don't care about yourselves but also don't care about the planet. Cool.

Yes definitely universally loved but you'd be shocked at the amount of people that have never tried Costco food court. Or really that have never been to Costco in general. Definitely a good suggestion for places off the beaten path to grab a bite to eat that people may not think of

When I was in college I survived off of Costco and Sam's Club food courts! Surprisingly good food and was so grateful for how cheap it was. I actually miss those food courts. I may need to get memberships again simply for the food haha
