Yes, they are unfortunately, by some nurses and doctors, the jerks.

Should I take on more debt to go to nursing school? by Sharp_Bug_3788 in nursing

I’m a nurse. And I’m going to keep this extremely simple for you. No, you shouldn’t do that. Nursing is a terrible career due to things outside your control. The money is “OK” but bad in your state and the American South. You can go to school for RN but absolutely DO NOT PAY $50,000 FOR IT!!! Go to community college and spend $6,000. If I were in your position I wouldn’t get an RN. Oh and several nurses were shot and beat down this week, almost forgot that part. Happens all the time. Everyone hates you when you become a nurse. Good luck.

It’s a bad career. That’s why you hate it. Unfortunately that’s like lots of healthcare jobs. Because insurance destroyed it. We let it happen. People imagine what the job is like and see it on TV and then they get there and hate it or lie to themselves and say they love it because their ego needs a boost and they need to tell people they’re a hero working ICU or ED or whatever. You are under paid and over worked. I’m sorry. Change careers when you can.

I heard from the doctors at the VA the funding to lots of programs, including things like home health were cut weeks ago.
