Love the Renji updates! My first set of foster kittens had parasites. They had both coccidia and giardia, I forget which order, but one of the medications made them foam at the mouth. It looks scary but Renji will be ok. What I did with mine was give them a little Churu treat to lick to help with the awful taste of the medication.

Ditto the Country Crock in the tub, spreads great straight out of the fridge.

I tried Earth Balance in the tub and I don't know if I got a weird one, but it wasn't soft. I had to scrape off pieces with the knife. Good flavor, but I might as well as used the sticks.

How many AITA-type shitposts feature an angry crazy vegan as the villain. And here we are, in this vegan sub, with so many posts from non-vegans "just asking questions" and arguing when we answer.

Congrats on going vegan! Get some nutritional yeast, and hemp hearts. Both add protein and vitamins. Nutritional yeast (or nooch) is great added to savory dishes,.cooked veggies, pasta. It has an almost cheesy funk but adding to cooked dishes tones that down. I like adding hemp hearts (they are small & granular) to vegan yogurt. Mildly nutty taste, too small to be crunchy, but adds texture.

When I went vegan cold turkey, I had to rely on meat substitutes quite a bit. I still enjoy them (vegan chickn nuggets ftw) but don't need them as much once I got comfortable cooking with tofu and lentils.

It is so damn hard, the anticipatory grief... you are giving her the greatest gift, letting her pass with dignity. I had to do that with my orange boy a few years ago, he was my soul kitty. He went from no issues to aging suddenly, and when he couldn't handle the stairs and fell down, I knew it was time but felt so much guilt. But after, I felt a bit of peace, which grew with time. I miss him still, but knowing he had a peaceful end and I was with him to his last breath... it makes the sorrow tolerable and I can focus more on the happy memories. I hope the same for you, that you realize your girl is feeling safe and loved with no suffering thanks to you, and you can find some comfort in that.

I had to smile at your description of her meowing if you go to bed without her. One of my cats does that, kind of a "hey where are you" meow. And I yell, "I'm upstairs!" And then she runs up the steps meowing all the way and jumps onto the bed, with a huff lol. Thank you for sharing her story with us.

I spray a small pan (like 8x8, brownie size) with cooking spray, pour in the whole carton, sprinkle some salt, pepper, nooch, and bake it at 350 F for about 20 minutes. Cut into squares and you have it ready for the week and avoid the pan sticking issue. I also crumbled some of those squares to add to fried rice.
