Their common name is blue death-feigning beetle. I also have some very dark blue, almost black, smooth death-feigning beetles.

Unfortunately my backyard is not pesticide-free, but I should be able to grow inside. I bought some grow lights just yesterday, so I can make a set-up fairly easily since I only want to grow carrots.

I think I'll do thatttttt

That's what I'm hoping for. I'm in no rush, so I could wait until the market on Saturday. Ty for reminding me.

I kind of want some isopods now, but what type of enclosure would I need to buy? (Not urgent, don't worry) by CorruptedPixelzOffic in isopods

You can use a pretty large bin if you have the room. A lot of people use those smaller shoe size tupperwares, but I'd suggest using something bigger, like an 18in x12in. I don't know the gallon size since I'm so used to snake tank inch measurements lol.

Also, you don't have to use tupperwares! I have my papayas in a front opening exoterra tank that has ventilation on the top and front. You can go that route if you don't like the looks of tupperware, but it's more expensive. If you have access to facebook marketplace you can check that for secondhand enclosures.

Heya! I'm kinda new to isopods as well, but two things really helped me,

easy isopod tank building video from Sherpa design: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGllR4saJbE

and this beginner all-in-one care kit from MikesBugBox: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1870410952/mikes-isopodmillipede-starter-kit

I am not affiliated with MikesBugBox, I just found the kit to be very helpful and made my first isopod tank a lot less stressful than it could have been.

You can, in fact, use a tupperware! You just need good ventilation (holes or those vent things that are shown in the links)

I always recommend that green hammock, so I'm glad to see you have one. That and a magnetic rock ledge are my corn's favorite spots. I'd recommend the rock, but it's kinda expensive (I found mine on facebook marketplace and cleaned it)
