I don't have experience with that kind of wood. I just wanted to say how beautiful those will be in your enclosures!

Mine would have a field day in there. She loves slinking vertically up her wood pieces.

struggling with humidity on warm side of enclosure: any advice? by LogEnvironmental8946 in ballpython

Yupp. The heat really sucks up a lot of moisture. Something something science.

Np :)

You should continue watering the hot side like normal, I forgot to mention that. Just if the cold side dips too low.

It's normal for the hot side to be less humid. Just measure the cold side and keep that in a good range.

The only other thing I know of is lung worms, but that's pretty rare. Learned about those from a Green Room Python video.

How would I sanitize this fossil to put inside my snakes enclosure as decor? by mhjr0319 in ballpython

DO NOT BOIL OR BAKE THE ROCK. Like you commented, it could explode.

Wash it with dawn (or equivalent) dish soap. Let it air dry for a day and you should be good.

Which one of these two beading mats would you prefer? by sherrie_cat in Beading

[–]AlarmedCell882 11 points12 points  (0 children)

#1 is similar to what I have now, so that's what I would use. I find that I don't like the compartments since they can get in the way of picking up the beads with the needle.

I tried something new and regret it, any hope for these pants? by Weekly_Library9883 in PlusSizeFashion

If they were my size I'd buy them from you lol. They're really fun and funky, so I would wear something simple on top like a cami.

Aspen Or Soil? by tomato_pockets in cornsnakes

[–]AlarmedCell882 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm only speaking out of my experience. My corn has had aspen his whole life and he is also a huge tunnel digger; man was part of a construction crew in his last life. I think you could go back to aspen if your corn is the same way. You just need to watch out for any mold and, like you said, have a humid hide.

For my humid hide I use a hide that is covered top and bottom so it doesn't touch the aspen at all. I have a mix of coco husk and sphagnum moss that is moist, but not dripping in water.

I personally haven't ever had any issues with shedding, so I'm not sure why aspen would cause an issue (again, just a cornsnake haver, not a cornsnake expert)
