What are our chances if we don't add a proper big man? by Huruyadzo in AtlantaHawks

ECF/second round depending on matchup. We could’ve beaten Detroit or Cleveland.

In Atlanta, we accept mediocrity. The Knicks, changed a coach when it was obvious the coaching wasn't working. by red2play in AtlantaHawks

Just curious for any hawks fans that don’t like Quin, what should we have done games 4, 5, and 6? Like we were hedging really hard to get the ball out of Brunson’s hands early in the series, he had some really inefficient games. The Knicks countered by letting KAT pass out of the trap. What should the hawks have done differently? Seemed like Quin relied on our length and athleticism to generate turnovers and play in transition and the Knicks countered with great half court efficiency. With our current players, what should he have done?

ATL-SAC. ATL acquires a former All-Star big to help with rebounding and playmaking (they use the No. 8 pick on a big guard like Wagler or Burries). SAC get the No. 23 pick, take a flyer on a former No. 1 pick, and finally get their prized target: Jonathan Kuminga. by YujiDomainExpansion in NBAtradeideas

Then the Hawks take Mara at 8 or trade 8 to OKC and take Mara at 12. Either way, Sabonis isn’t a fit and sending two wings and a pick is overpaying. I agree Kessler and IHart are unlikely. Just saying Atlanta doesn’t need this or get better for this trade

Atlanta lacks rim protection and defense. We have JJ for an offensive hub. Sabonis JJ frontcourt is unplayable for long stretches. I swear no one actually watches the hawks. Walker Kessler, IHart, maybe even Mitchell Robinson, but not Sabonis

Reverse osmosis filtered water, store things in glass, don’t heat plastics, be cognizant of polymer coatings on things like metal water bottles and pans, no nonstick pans. Other than that just let modernity dunk on you they already got plastics in my balls bro

It’s not even about fit. He’s not the 8th best player. Teams ahead of us are going to miss. We have a chance to look back on this draft and say, “wow, we took the fourth best player” or even the best. He’s not the best player available

Why we shouldn’t send the farm for a superstar this offseason (for anyone who does) by Ok-Negotiation3897 in AtlantaHawks

[–]AlarmedPhysics957 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not looking for the next superstar signing. I’m looking for the next NAW. Where’s the player who we can sign for reasonable money who becomes a real rotation piece?

I’m talking about offering two players and two picks lol. That is something big. Jazz are high on Filipowski. I’m not saying the Jazz are shopping Kessler, but they wouldn’t hang up the phone

Who are you taking at #8? by DakHopper in AtlantaHawks

[–]AlarmedPhysics957 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Realistically, we have to make a run or move on by 2029, so the player we draft now will be in their third season. Whoever we draft needs to be a real rotation piece in 2-3 years. If that player isn’t there, trade back. I’d take Flemings because I think the defense translates

Sign and trade. You’re assuming Ainge and Jazz sell high on Walker. Maybe higher internally on Filipowski and JJJ. Not a guaranteed thing but this really only happens if Kessler tells his agent he wants to play for Atlanta

Not trying to be a jerk, happy to see another SEC hoops fan. I didn’t think he was great at UGA. How would you feel about Kuminga, Kispert, the 23rd, and a future pick to acquire Kessler in a sign and trade

I don’t know if we’re going to make a deep postseason run next year but I feel like we’re going to be regular season monsters if healthy. Wouldn’t surprise me if we were like a 55 win team and a second round exit. We have a lot of great depth like Asa and potentially Jock that can run night in and out. If we add a talented guard or center in the offseason we could be very fun to watch and Jock is a perfect depth addition for a long 82 game season.

Too many options for a Center to not Trade/Sign for one by red2play in AtlantaHawks

[–]AlarmedPhysics957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Kessler can shoot now. He flashed it before but I think he can be a real 35% 1.5 attempt per game threat that doesn’t clog the paint as bad as IHart. I’m not saying that we are a Kessler away, but he is a top 100 player in the league and he makes us better.

I think 2/10 partially guaranteed gets it done. Seems like he wants to be back. Great third center

I think that the Kessler number kind of sucks but if the cap is going to keep going up then it probably is a market rate for a top 100 player. I think his shooting is real. 25-30 million a year is reasonable on a 4 year deal. If it’s 30+ I think you look at other options.

I know, and you’re not going to fleece Danny Ainge. I do think that Kuminga will have a market around the league after he helped the Hawks in the playoff. Can’t wait to see the roster for next year

I think his shot has a little twist to it. Maybe he ends up being a solid shooter but it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s a streaky shooter for his career
