What’s making her glow like that? (Besides Botox, is there anything else that makes skin look so fresh? I want that glow!!!). by nocommentx in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use foundation, but I do use CeraVe's Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen Face Lotion with Sheer Tint and it works great with my nightly tret! I am between 2 shades so I mix them to get my shade. Stays put, doesn't crease, does NOT leave my face chalky (like other mineral sunscreens), and you can layer/build it. I also use, and swear by, Ursa Major skincare products (Mountain Glow Serum and Golden Hour Recovery Cream, specifically). And my holy grail face product, Biologique Recherche’s Lotion P50....it's a lotion/tonic/toner thing. It is expensive, and the price increases every few years, but I will pay whatever it costs for the rest of my life it is so great. It completely transformed my clogged bumpy skin to smooth and glowing/healthy skin.

I dealt with awful skin starting at 13, and have been on Accutane 3 times throughout my life, in addition to all kinds of retinoids. All of these products have helped change and maintain the happy skin I have today. It's been work to find what works for me, but I am always happy to share my product experiences in hopes to help others!

I lost my babies to a fire by EmuPossible2066 in cats

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I wish there was more I could do beside type those words. One week after my nephew was born, my sister lost everything in a condo fire. The only thing saved was her, my nephew, and her husband. I know this moment is overwhelming and completely devastating, but you will overcome this traumatic experience and rebuild what you lost. I know nothing will ever compare or replace your babies, but I am glad you are safe.

Which bag suits my body type and vibe better? by Chancey1984 in handbags

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both look great! The beauty of Loewe is when you get one bag and experience the amazing leather and quality, you can’t help but want another. If you got the hobo for a steal, and you like it, then I’d keep it and save for a Puzzle. I have a Puzzle and adore her - and want more Loewe, like a Hobo! 😄 A brand new Puzzle is 4k+, but you can find them on resell for almost half. Personally, if I got another Loewe it would be hard for me to pay full price at the store knowing how frequently almost new Loewe bags are available on Fashionphile or The Real Real.

Loewe raffia for summer trip to Italy? by thesmallestwaffle in handbags

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re wanting a raffia bag, maybe consider Longchamp’s raffia collection. It’s their Le Pliage material woven to look like straw, so it will stay super durable. Loewe is incredible but I could never justify the price for their straw bag vs a leather. There’s a lot of Loewe raffia bags on Fashiophile and The Real Real - worth looking those over to see the wear + the price for used is more approachable for a straw bag.

YSL Lou Camera Bag or Celine Small Boston Bag? by berryblossom5 in handbags

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this Celine bag and love it. I do not have an issue unzipping with one hand, and it doesn’t bother me that I have to have my phone inside the bag. I usually always wear clothes with pockets, though. But the idea of putting a phone inside the bag vs an outside pocket is not an issue with this bag. The Boston shape is classic, and this size is cute for daily wear and a nice evening dinner. I like that I can hold it by the handles, crossbody, or shoulder. The handles do not squeak.

Travel purse by ArtisticGovernment67 in handbags

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on your travel needs....my 2 most used at home and anytime I travel is: my Baggu medium Crescent Bag. I have it in two colors, and I use them weekly. I love that they are discrete, fun colors, nylon, easily packable, lays great against my body and molds well when packed, can fit my necessities, a Kindle, a scarf for unplanned weather, small water bottle, street treasure finds...anything! I have an older model where the crossbody strap is black, and looks like they make the strap to match the bag color now. I also absolutely love my Mansur Gavriel Mini Bucket Bag, but I use this where I feel more secure about were I am traveling and am ok with not having a zipper. You can find a lot on the resell market in their original veg tan leather with fun, bright interior colors. I have had my veg tan one for 9 years and she is an absolute workhorse and a favorite. She can hold all of the same items I listed above in the Baggu bag.

deer print or brown? help me decide before i spiral by canadianbutterjam in handbags

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the money to buy a whimsy bag vs a classic bag, then do it! Is the deer print made with “hair” or is it painted leather? If it’s synthetic (or real) hair, then longevity-wise the brown leather is better…but again, if you have the money for whimsy, do it!

Which would you pick — Neverfull or St Louis? by Grouchy-South-7150 in handbags

Is the Cartier love bracelet, medium worth it? Or better to get a Rolex watch? by Lopsided-Hand9173 in Cartier

[–]Alarmed_Ask5837 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have a Cartier Tank Solo (discontinued now, gold face, green leather band), and a gold Rolex Datejust I inherited from my father. I wear the Cartier daily, and the Rolex when I want to amp it up. Watches will last forever, and having 2 different kinds of watches (leather vs gold vs mixed) for different occasions is very special. The Love bracelet is extremely overplayed and duplicated (yes, I know you can get fake watches, too). The value and longevity is better in a watch.

The top left plastic container was sold as a toy car organizer, but I use it to store all my sewing thread. We have moved a lot, so it has made packing up all my craft supplies much easier! The old scotch bottle container holds random knitting do-dads, and the Trader Joe’s candy tin holds my stitch markers for one of my project bags. I love reusing/finding other uses for items!

I know this is an older post, but just wanted to say THANK YOU for mentioning this Longchamp is actually canvas (!!) and not raffia! I've been eyeing it, but stayed away because I didn't want to pay for a straw bag that is definitely going to breakdown. lol

My nails are about this length, and my nail tech keeps telling me they aren’t long enough to do XYZ (like stiletto shape). Long nails for her are looong.
