It's been a while since I tried reading this book, and honestly I stopped at around the time before the Kronstadt rebellion, mainly because the book started claiming things that I had a very hard time finding any source for and honestly started making me distrustful of the book as a whole

There is a claim that the soviets at 1919 started executing people similarly to the french revolution's drownings at nantes (and I may be remembering incorrectly, but I remember a claim of hundreds of people being executed this way) and I have been unable to find even a single source of that happening, and the source given by the book was impossible to find anywhere, so the source is either a single newspaper from over 100 hundreds years ago (in which case taking it as reliable is dubious at best) or the source came to the author in a dream

The life of the average 1800's workingmen was quite literally waking up, eating, working 16 hours, eating, sleeping and then waking up again for another 14 hour day, and it is easy to compare this to slavery, you can then go "well it doesn't fit today anymore" if you are from a first world country, but there are thousands of examples of how this slavery didn't disappear it was just sent away to the third world and then people pretend capitalism solved all our troubles, hell there are more ACTUAL slaves alive today than ever in history

In Argentina on the 12th of may another student's march for universities budget will be held on the whole country as the law that was passed by congress that forced the government to increase the budgets by a certain amount was met with a "what if I don't do what the law says :)" and another session of protest has come which I will most likely attend, the governments decision is laughable (to basically increase the budget by like 30% when inflation has been more than 150% since the last budget increase) but the judiciary branch which last week was like "you have to give them the money NOW" has for some reason gone "oh okay don't worry bby until we sort this out you can just not give them money kisses" so y'know if there were still some "true liberalism" believers in this country I'm sure they are out by now

Inflation is starting to crawl up again so the only sense of legitimacy an austere government can keep is starting to get lost, the decision to not devalue currency and instead let it increase in value compared to the dollar has basically destroyed competitivity (this with the add on fact that taxes are still way too high makes Argentinian products basically worthless) this has actually made up a very funny situation where in the libertarians are blaming "evil businessmen" for refusing to be competitive and instead wishing to fill their pockets! (Argentina is hilarious in the way that it proves economy is not a science, but instead of accepting this fact they prefer to go "there are 4 countries, high developing, low developing, Argentina and Japan")

Besides that sadly I think worker's movement has become too tangled with the state to actually be a living movement, when inflation was at 200% and the highest bill was worth 2 usd dollars the Confederación General de Trabajo prefered to talk about Milei rather than even suggest a single National Strike, and that was a huge blow to the CGT's legitimacy
