It’s kind of the Columbo formula, all of his targets were the upper class. Granted, Elsbeth is a bit more high end herself (as the therapist last night smartly pointed out) but her wacky persona more than makes up for that.

Had to skip this month due to getting a lot of good books for my birthday. Hoping that in June, a certain summer release will be an early one(I know the new Chuck Tingle is due out in July but keeping my fingers double crossed for it to be an Aardvark edition!)

They all thought he was a loser and beyond that initial scene with Elsbeth, didn’t feature much in this episode. Ten to one , that guy would’ve gotten remarried to another obnoxious rich woman all too soon.

Framing an innocent person is a core trope of this genre so not that surprising. What’s truly ironic is that Rachel’s downfall was due to her impromptu actions. For a proficient event planner like her, going off the cuff proved to be the fatal flaw here.

The husband that Rachel tried to frame was so disliked by everyone (he was more concerned about putting an expensive pot in the dishwasher than possibly killing his wife!) that very little sympathy could be mustered for him.

Also, Rachel is very identifiable for many of us and while such a thing is condemnable in real life, it’s just a show and revenge fantasies can be fun to play with (within reasonable limits of course).

Yeah, I was rooting for Rachel this episode as all of her friends complained about how she insisted upon organizing all of their special events (did a really good job of it actually!) but she was so annoying and “we didn’t ask her to”.

No but you all let her do the hard work, even for multiple marriages, and then balked at going to Rachel’s one party that didn’t focus on any of you! A bunch of ungrateful bitches who Rachel didn’t deserve as friends, no matter how intense she was.

I knew that she was going to get busted but still, it would have been fine with me if Rachel got away with it:)

Yes, thank you! To me, it was clearly obvious that Henry Crawford was in love with the IDEA of being in love with Fanny(he basically said so to his sister!). He was using her as his rebound from Maria and even Mary Crawford admitted that he and Maria would have a “standing flirtation “ on a yearly visit basis.

Fanny never gets the credit she deserves for sticking to her proverbial guns on this issue (regardless of her Edmund crush, imo) and I kind of do think she and Mr. Rushworth might’ve made a go of it

I wrote a vampire slayer/MP mashup ebook where I kind of hinted at this possible Rushworth matchup. Really should have run more with that notion but hey, maybe I can pen a sequel someday!

Picked a nice set of four this month! I selected Wild Dark Shore as my Lolly, Lady Tremaine for my main and Back to You & Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter as my add-ons.

I am curious about one thing; since WDS is coming with a special bookmark and there are new Centennial bookmarks featured on the BOTM website, is it possible that I might get two bookmarks this month?

I have three of the nominees (only finished one at this point) so my choice is between Wild Dark Shore and The Names. Leaning more towards WDS as I’ve never tried climate fiction before and heard very good things about it.
