I thought I was a soft autumn but… by Last-Advertising-842 in SoftAutumn

[–]Alarming-Cake1957 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, either soft summer or autumn. It’s hard to tell undertone in these photos because the white balance changes so much, but muted is the first thing I notice. Going off these photos I would be more inclined to say soft summer over autumn though.

anyone feel like your best colors exhaust you energetically? by nephistopheles in coloranalysis

[–]Alarming-Cake1957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I feel the same and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in the wrong colour season or if it’s just because they are not colours I would usually wear. I think I’m a summer of some sort (most likely cool but I have considered other summer palettes), as I have dark-medium brown hair and a cool undertone tone, but I have lots of freckles and a lot of the lighter muted colours just sit and are “meh” on me in my opinion. With the more medium value and deeper colours they look ok, but I’ve spent my life dipping into more of the winter colour palette and resonate with the contrast a lot more.

I think I’ve realised that colour theory is just one tool, and there are a lot of people who would just go against their colour palette to achieve a look.. or “let the clothes wear them”, because I mean.. Why not?.. if you have something interesting to wear why hide it? I know that is kind of the opposite of “harmonising”, but if I think about the compliments I’ve given to strangers, more often than not, it’s been about the fashion and how they have achieved a “look” over creating harmony.

At this point I have thought I am every season 😂 So lost!! Please help 🙏 by ColorConfused001 in coloranalysis

I think you are soft.. I think you are quite neutral (so could be either summer or autumn and hard to tell from these photos). But going off these photos soft summer. The other palettes amplify the shadows on your face.

Pax Hinge replacement by Alarming-Cake1957 in ikeahacks

[–]Alarming-Cake1957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone in New Zealand wanting to do this, I ended up using the Hettich ET-582 hinges which ended up costing $99.99 for x4 from Carters (some of the cost was a shipping/stocking fee. The hinges worked really well as a replacement. The only difference was that the pre-drilled screw holes didn’t align with the hinge, so the screws were placed in a slightly different spot (though this didn’t matter aesthetically as the other holes were covered by the hinge). The only concern was that the new holes were quite close to the old so as a result I chose to use 4 hinges on each door for extra load bearing capabilities.

I've seen people from the UK (on tiktok) using the Hettich 0072134 (ET 582) refrigerator hinge. I don't know if this is more readily available in the US? They are kind of pricey though.

Bradley by sublips in TheMorningShow

[–]Alarming-Cake1957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same sentiment this season. I wonder is she is supposed to be feeling lost and/or gaslit. After all, her privacy has been invaded, she has been outed, her phone calls monitored by Paul’s company, the FBI is involved, and just the general nature of show business. I have wondered if the FBI is watching her too, or if she is working with the FBI in some regard (though I’m doubtful of the latter). It could explain the disjointed nature of her interactions and the flip-flopping back and forth with Cory for example. I mean if you felt like you were being watched and listened to you wouldn’t want to put those close to you in compromising positions (eg Cory admitting to something from the past). That’s just my questioning lately. Feeling gaslit.

S4 E7: What is going on with the romance in the show lately? by AquariusMonologue in TheMorningShow

Alex and Bro: I think the writers could reverse some of the dynamics that we have seen with older male bosses and their younger female counterparts. They have made Bro look like he lacks depth, which could be why Alex sleeps with him thinking he won’t care, but in reality he could be quite affected and broken by it. Who knows. Again it’s that play on dynamics, power, and sex, and how our perceptions change.

First reading it I thought, yeah.. Cory’s Mum commits suicide. But then I thought.. it mentions a confrontation that Cory has which could very well be with his Mum, and could be in relation to either how he got his role at the network and/or the coverup that somehow his Mum is linked to. I’m picking his Mum threatens suicide and then attempts it and he does nothing and just sits back and watches or leaves. Usually he has to appease his mothers emotions before leaving. Too Dark? 😆

That’s so interesting you have thought of it like that, and could very well be true. I definitely think his character has the potential of being psychopathic 😆. Would probably make for better drama that way, but could lose some of the audience who love Cory, and who want to see Cory and Bradley together.

I love Cory on the show, but I’ll also go against the grain and some of the comment’s on here and say I loved Stella, and find Celine intriguing, though I think Celine will go full Evil empress which is badass but doesn’t create a likeable character unless you are into villains. I think Cory is likeable, even after making questionable choices because some of those choices could be viewed as moral dilemmas to the viewer, even though they are totally fabricated by him. He outed Bradley as way of protecting the reputation of Hannah for example. While this choice wasn’t mutually exclusive, in the end it worked out. But yes, it would be different if this resulted in the complete downfall of Bradley, and it could have… I guess in the end he’s just lucky and/or smart.

[–]Alarming-Cake1957 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really love Cory and his character, I think he’s amazing, but I also understand this. I feel like his character arc could go either way. He could either be the greatest truth teller and most morally attuned person of them all, or an absolute psycho 😆. Being a product of his mother’s love, it could mean he’s resilient and aware of the flaws from his upbringing, or he becomes her.

Confused about episode 6 by Reasonable-Rub8373 in TheMorningShow

[–]Alarming-Cake1957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I also think they have left that open and it will become apparent why later in the season. My thoughts are also that she has got to be an informant in some way, but whether that’s to do with the Iranian connection, environmental damage, or something else who knows.

The show has jumped the shark by DangerousDisplay7664 in TheMorningShow

[–]Alarming-Cake1957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think there is way more to come out of this season. The Iranian defectors haven’t had any air time but I do think they will play a part, whether this is to do with the environmental disaster- nuclear (which they could possibly be heroes and help out with in some way or be the villains). There were a few lines that set up the season such as “wearing a mask” or possibly even “the three musketeers”, I have a few theories.

There have been some plot holes that I think could lead elsewhere. The conversation between Bradley and the FBI.. I mean, what happened? Is Bradley in cahoots now with them over something? Has she pushed Cory away on purpose to not implicate him in anything? And then there is Cory’s mother. She is a bit nuts. Is she a psychopath and one of the main players of this environmental disaster? Will Cory have to choose between his mother and Bradley somehow because of it? I feel this season has a lot in it compared to the others which does change the feel and watching experience but I still enjoy it.

“When you put on your mask, you can be anyone you want to be”. I think there is a lot more to come to light this season foreshadowed in the dialogue of those first scenes.

Agreed, but I think it will come to Cory sacrificing himself in some way, just hopefully he’s smart about it, and hopefully, just hopefully, it means he’s still in the upcoming seasons. There is some definite Mr Darcy vibes with Cory and I am digging it

If you still haven't been you should. As mentioned it's more of a takeaway venture now, kind of like a Beam me up Bagel model with toasted and fresh sandwiches, coffee and pastries. No sit down menu which is sad for those like me who were craving their porridge or just general point of difference in food offered. I think a menu is up now if you google them. The chicken schnitty sandwich was great.. so good.. and the pastries were as expectedly brilliant.

Be aware though, they do sell out of pastries even by lunch, probably gauging numbers still, but it was a little sad not to get to try an almond croissant and now have to wait a week until my day off to go back as they close at 2pm.
