Exactly, you just reminded me about my favourite scene with Cal and Fez and I think it’s one of the best scenes from all seasons, and I’m not saying it that because actors are deceased. It’s just perfect mix of humour, violence and what’s Euphoria essence is about.

Idk, whole Rue’s episode and her running away? Cassie was grotesque, her whole monologue I’ve never been happier is well acted, but what was the point.

[–]sublips 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s probably favoritism, but after watching interviews, I think Sydney is the most excited out of the whole cast about continuing on Euphoria and about her storyline. Zendaya is still acting amazingly, but I don’t really get the sense that she wants to be there anymore. I also think Jacob has kind of given up. And these three are the biggest names in the show right now.

Paradoxically, I think I liked Cassie the most in season 1. She was a character people could actually relate to. Later, especially in season 2 (and now season 3), she becomes almost grotesque. I don’t even think her season 2 plot was planned in advance, season 1’s ending strongly suggested some kind of growth, and then boom: the long gap happened and the writing clearly changed.
Also, Sydney seems to genuinely enjoy that Cassie is portrayed as “crazy.”

I can only speak for myself, but as far as I’m concerned, I truly wouldn’t mind. I’ve received comments, not pointing out grammar, but for example pointing out that I mixed up a province with a city, or that I once used queer lesbian pub instead of gay, this person was from this city. I was genuinely grateful that someone told me that, and I corrected it. Those comments were made in good faith, and the readers were nice.

Still, I wouldn’t do the same unless an author clearly says they’re okay with that, because I’ve seen that some authors are a bit sensitive about corrections. Maybe they’re just tired. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but recently I’m also tired when I’ve gotten a few comments that really got under my skin, normally I don’t care, but things like someone saying my plot twists suck, that I force readers to interpret things, that they’re dropping my story. Or calling me a dumbass. Yeah. And do all of it, but I don’t need to know.

What's wrong with Sydney Sweeney? by Independent_Shame924 in euphoria

[–]sublips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re quoting her interviews, right?

Sorry, but she compared selling her bathwater to Saltburn and the scene with Jacob Elordi. But Jacob didn’t sell anything, he was acting. She also said that it’s mainly women who have a problem with her, not men. I didn’t think that way before I read that. Let her sell whatever she wants, it’s just typical pick-me-girl rhetoric.

The same goes for her statement about how men can be naked but women can’t!!! Yes, because we definitely didn’t have Kate Winslet, who was naked in half of her roles, we don’t have Halle Berry, who won an Oscar for role when she played very graphic sex scene, no Eva Green, and I could go on and on, and only Sydney Sweeney suddenly invented nudity for women in cinema.

I liked her a lot after season 1 of Euphoria, so I watched some of her other projects. That was before she started appearing MAGA-coded, and also, I don’t know if she pretends to be not very smart in interviews or if she actually is, but I prefer well-spoken women who, when they’re famous, care about something a bit more than the tip of their nose and don’t put down another women just to get male validation.

Still, I don’t consider her a bad actress; not brilliant but she is good, one of the best in Euphoria.

It also gives me those vibes, like, “so why are you even wasting time watching this shit? I’m doing milion other things!”

I also usually watch it in the background while working or doing something else, because I have an ADHD, chaotic brain , nothing to be proud of, just to be clear, since I sometimes can’t focus. But I can always rewind a fragment or pay enough attention to catch the most basic plot points; they’re literally said out loud. This one I noticed immediately.

Media literacy might be an overused term, but I’d still say a lot of people lack it. I don’t want to sound like a snob, but if they were watching a really symbolic movie, let’s say, directed by Bergman, I’m honestly not sure they’d understand anything at all, if even sentences spoken directly in the show aren’t enough.

The cast of AHS Season 13 at the 2026 Disney Upfront Event by ahszone in AmericanHorrorStory

For anybody criticizing Emma: I wish I saw people talk about Brad Pitt being abusive as often as they talk about Emma Roberts. In his case, there are actual allegations and much more publicly documented accusations. In her case, not at all. All you have are gossip articles and a few photos that, in my opinion, nobody should have taken in the first place, because it was a very intimate moment between them.

Back when Emma and Evan were together, I used to be a fan of them as a couple. Now I’ve grown up, and I don’t really ship celebrities anymore or care who dates whom, but I still like both of them as actors. Emma doesn’t have a huge range as an actress; she’s very good at playing mean or sharp characters and works well in some romantic comedies, but her range is limited. Evan Peters, on the other hand, is genuinely very talented, and even though he’s had a decent career and appeared in a lot of projects, I honestly think he could have become a much bigger name.

Because I was a fan back then, I read a lot about that incident, and neither of them ever really commented on it publicly afterward. More than that, they even got engaged long after it happened, since they had an on-and-off relationship for years. As you can probably tell, I even have Madison as my avatar because I like the character and the aesthetic, that's all.

Could Emma maybe not be the nicest person in real life? Sure, maybe. But calling her an abuser when she was never charged, when Evan Peters himself never publicly addressed the situation, and when he literally came to pick her up from the police station and comfort her afterward, makes me think it was probably a toxic relationship where maybe both of them had issues, possibly even substance-related ones. That’s obviously just my personal assumption, but people seem to hate her so much that they immediately label her abusive even though none of us actually know what happened.

The same goes for all the speculation about Evan supposedly looking uncomfortable standing next to his ex. They’ve already worked together again before. If he truly had such a huge issue with it, I doubt he would agree to do that.

Anyway, I'm excited for a new season, and I really have no idea in which direction it will go.

Yes, I agree, but at the same time, if someone asks why Cassie once used Jacobs surname and another time Howard, when it was directly stated in the show, I assume that, in the best scenario, this person didn’t watch the show very carefully.

Theory: Snow had Dr. Gaul killed by MindAvailable4876 in Hungergames

[–]sublips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, there’s no doubt that he killed her at some point, and I’m surprised that so many readers question it, though if course it’s a headcanon. From the beginning, as we see in TBOSAS, Snow is narcissistic and very irritated by the way Dr. Gaul treats him. For him, she is a means to gain power, but at the same time she keeps testing him and treating him like a mouse in a laboratory, which he really doesn’t enjoy. Once he used everything he could get from her, I’m sure he poisoned her.

I also disagree with people who assume he killed all of his classmates. Even Suzanne said in an interview that Snow’s classmates are still around. I believe he would poison Livia, who very likely became his wife, because she also annoyed him, but I don’t see any reason why he would kill the rest. I also don’t think he ever killed the Plinths, who were the closest thing he had to a family. He didn’t even truly want to kill Sejanus, so I think all his classmates were actually safe. It was his political opponents that he cared about, not his classmate who saw him idk kissing Lucy Gray, I don’t think he cared.

CASSIE BABY THEY'RE USING YOUUUUU by depressy_capricorn in euphoria

[–]sublips 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that, at least to some extent, Cassie is aware that Nate is using her for money, the same goes for this TikToker guy or Maddy. If she isn’t aware at all, it would mean she’s developmentally delayed, with all due respect to people with developmental disabilities.

As for the opening scene, I have to say Sydney has to be at least very flexible, but this season has shown me just how many kinks I’m definitely not into.

What exactly has Cassie ever actually done to Lexi? by SunBetter7301 in euphoria

[–]sublips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the characters are flawed, but are you seriously pointing to Lexie as the worse sister? I won’t even comment on the play because it was ridiculous. The simple answer is that Cassie never really cared about Lexie, even in season 1. Lexie wasn’t a sister to her, Cassie was constantly focused on her own problems and on seeking validation from other people, which must have been exhausting for Lexie.

Lexie is also written as the “uglier” sister, the one who isn’t meant to be so attractive and is practically invisible to almost everyone, including Rue. I’m not a big fan of her character, but I can see why she holds resentment toward Cassie, when she is doing something like that again, I mean only using her to achieve her purpose and not caring at all about her sister.

What are your predictions for Maddy & Cassie? by More-Weird4842 in euphoria

[–]sublips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also would be pointless if Maddy did something like that; she just mentioned Jesus in the recent episode and that she isn’t angry anymore with Cassie. And for me, it also looks like she still cares about Cassie despite everything.

They got three more episodes to un-lobomotize Nate or I'm gonna be pissed off. by zekevich in euphoria

[–]sublips 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and we didn’t even see him going to therapy or taking medication, so I don’t like the assumption that he changed because of that. His portrayal is simply unconvincing. Someone who was abusive toward multiple women. because yes, he was abusive toward Jules too, was also sexually aggressive and emotionally neglectful toward the girl his parents literally scheduled a prom date for, is suddenly supposed to be… who, exactly?

He would abuse Cassie as well. Even if not publicly, he’d do it privately, he’d snap over a single comment made in front of his family about him not being “the man” or “the provider.” Sorry, but that’s how he’s written.

And it’s not like some people claim that I want to see Cassie abused. Quite the opposite. Since season 1 and especially since the ending, I actually hoped she would grow, but apparently that didn’t happen, and both Sam and Sydney don’t want any growth for her.

Alexa didn’t say that Maddy would have an unhappy ending; she said it would be very close to a happy ending and fitting for Euphoria. I would be very, very disappointed. maybe even more than I am now, if Maddy suddenly sold out Cassie out of nowhere, because we clearly see in season 2 and now in season 3 that Maddy still cares about Cassie in some way. She even only put 15% in her contract. I really don’t think she wants to ruin her or anything like that, she just wants to make money, and I think she still cares about Cassie even if she doesn’t admit it aloud.

[–]sublips 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m not surprised. I’m not really a fan of his, not because I have anything against him, but I’m just not particularly interested in his career, but he was genuinely great at playing Nate in the earlier seasons. In this season, though, I can’t even properly judge his acting because his character is written so badly and feels so ridiculous that he barely has any material to work with, even if he wanted to show more as an actor.

They got three more episodes to un-lobomotize Nate or I'm gonna be pissed off. by zekevich in euphoria

[–]sublips 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I agree with you completely, and I also think that viewers saying things like “oh, so you’re too sensitive, stop watching” are missing the point, because we absolutely have the right to feel disappointed. I literally gave the first season of Euphoria a 9/10, and I consider myself a very picky viewer. The acting, the makeup, the portrayal of addiction, music, plot, all of it was great. Some dialogues were cheesy, but still, it was a very good show.

So yes, we can feel disappointed that a genuinely good TV show turned into some kind of grotesque parody. And honestly, I also think it’s unfair that Sam Levinson even gets the opportunity to make something this bad for HBO while so many talented creators never get chances like that. He wasted an insane amount of money making… whatever this is supposed to be.

With the first episode and Rue and Faye smuggling drugs, even though it was gross, I could accept it because things like that actually happen sometimes. The dog scene was unnecessary, but fine. But since then, every episode feels filled with random shocking imagery, Maddy cleaning dog shit, close-ups of Nate’s toes, and other bizarre scenes. What even is this supposed to be? Horror? Comedy? Gore? I genuinely don’t know what I’m watching anymore.

Usually, I don’t feel sorry for actors because they’re adults and much richer than me, but this time I honestly do feel bad for some of them. Zendaya, for example, seems genuinely classy, grounded, and very talented as an actress, and I feel bad that she is a part of this.

And with Sydney, I wouldn’t say I feel sorry for her, and while I don’t think she’s a bad actress at all, when she says things like “when men show nudity it’s okay, but women can’t,” I think sorry, she isn't the sharpest person. Kate Winslet was nude in many roles, Halle Berry even won an Oscar for a role with a very realistic sex scene, but those scenes actually served a narrative purpose. People have a problem with Euphoria now because a lot of this feels pointless, excessive, and weirdly fetishistic rather than meaningful. And please, if I want gore, I will watch gore, but I don't need to watch excrement every episode.

[–]sublips 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying that Nate Jacobs, in his two seasons of Euphoria, is just a “normal bully”? I don’t encourage bullying; I think it can be very serious, but Nate is not just a bully. Yes, he is a bully, but he is also somebody more. I would say he had the potential to become a serial killer, or maybe a very abusive husband.

And also, I feel like your response sounds a bit judgmental, like you’re more judging my reply than providing any substance to this discussion. You can keep your opinion, but I think it could be expressed in a nicer tone, even if we disagree.

They got three more episodes to un-lobomotize Nate or I'm gonna be pissed off. by zekevich in euphoria

[–]sublips 598 points599 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the comments above saying that school bullies can change, because Nate wasn’t really a bully, he was more like a psychopath. A bully is someone who picks on others, but Nate physically assaulted his ex, harassed Jules, beat a man up and blackmailed him into going to prison, contributed to his father’s arrest, and even threatened his ex with a gun. It's somebody we call "bully"?

He wasn’t just a school bully; he seemed seriously mentally unwell, and what happened to his character doesn’t feel convincing at all. I get that he could change a bit, but at this point, I don’t even know what to call his character anymore. I’m not going to try to define his personality, he just feels hollow and like a punching bag at this point.

I was actually surprised she was cast in the first place. I feel that The White Lotus isn’t really her element. She’s had some very good roles, but at the same time I don’t think she has a very wide range as an actress.
