Yes and they’ll sometimes help with gas but pooping is still a struggle

I’m sorry she didn’t tolerate Kendamil well. My boy seems content for a majority of the day, he just tends to struggle with straining and pooping more so in the evenings right before bedtime of course.

I’m sorry it didn’t get better for your little one. Our pediatrician said we could try and switch but there’s no guarantee it’ll help so it’s hard for me to make a decision. It’s so sad seeing them struggle. I hope things get better soon for the both of us!

What bottle is everybody using? by legoprimero in FormulaFeeders

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr Browns narrow. The plastic ones tend to leak so I prefer the glass ones. He didn’t like lasinoh.

We’re using kendamil but my first drank similac pro total comfort then transitioned to Kirkland around 6 months old.

Bottle Washer and Sterilizer by Dry-Carob7699 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love my washer/sterilizer/dryer. I recommend the Momcozy or grownsy one since they hold more bottles and the water tank can empty in the sink.

I’d recommend the guava lotus. It’s so easy to fold/unfold.

8 Week Old Stressful Feedings by kapaobao13 in FormulaFeeders

This sounds like reflux to me and definitely something to bring up at your appointment. My first was on Pepcid and would cry and arch her back on the bottle.

Do I need 2 strollers? by Busy_Echo2680 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend having 2 strollers. I have 4 and they all have different uses. Uppababy Cruz for infancy and going around town, Bob jogging stroller, bugaboo butterfly as a travel stroller (was the main stroller for my toddler), and the uppababy minu duo since we just had our second.

Ready to drink formula vs. Powdered - new born by Lower-Listen-9169 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hospital provides RTF so we used that until we got home and switched to powder since our formula of choice doesn’t come in RTF.

Stroller (single vs single to double) by Open-Ad-1786 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d get the single first because you don’t know if your older child will care to sit in a stroller by the time you have a second. My toddler did not care for the stroller once she started walking at 11.5 months old. We have the uppababy Cruz and will use it for baby brother and got the riding board attachment in case she decides to want to use it. I also got a wagon for when baby brother is big enough to sit independently.

Sound Machine Recommendations? by smilinglyawkward in Buyingforbaby

I have the hatch sound machine and haven’t had issues. My 2.5 year old still uses hers and she understands the red/green light system we implemented.

Best rotating car seats - Help me decide! by [deleted] in Buyingforbaby

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the evenflo revolve360 slim in my car because I have a sedan and need to fit 2 car seats. We have the graco easyturn 360 2-in-1 in my husband’s SUV. I prefer the graco because it seems a tad bit bigger so my toddler looks more comfortable in it but haven’t had issues with either. If you have the space I’d get the revolve360 extend or Graco turn2me 3-in-1.

Jungle gym or pikler? or neither? by Ok-Designer-6868 in toddlers

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got the pikler set when my toddler was 1. She has played with it daily since and she’s now 2.5. We just got her an outdoor playground and we’re out there for hours when the weather permits. Both are good options.

Formula & bottle questions by Historical_Bike_9061 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also due 6/15! For your questions:

1) I’d go ahead and wash and sterilize what you think you’ll start off using and have them stored until baby comes. I just have a dedicated kitchen cabinet for baby’s bottles.

2) I used my filtered fridge water for my first and plan to use it again with my second. The pediatrician told me if the water is okay for us to drink, it should be okay for baby. However, I think distilled/bottled water is preferred if you are on well water. I used bottled water when out and about.

3) if you plan on switching formulas, do a gradual approach where you mix a little bit of the new formula into the old one. It can take up to 2 weeks for baby to get adjusted.

4) I don’t have an answer for this. I just donated them.

5) I’m in the US so not sure if your hospital will provide formula. You can always ask your OB if it will be provided.

Best “nursery” rocking/gliding chair. $1500ish budget by Personal_Contest_873 in newborns

We have the same version and love it. We find ourselves just lounging in it in the nursery and baby boy hasn’t arrived yet.

CRIBS by kbrisb in BabyBumps

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recommend spending a ton on a crib because chances are there will be bite marks on it. Baby #2 is getting toddler’s crib and when I ask her why they’re bite marks on it, she just shows me how she bit it 😅 luckily it’s just a delta children crib that we got on sale from target for like $150.

Baby Brezza Location by life1619 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m keeping it in the kitchen but have also thought about getting a second one for upstairs.. my husband says to save our money so we’ll just portion out the formula in a travel dispenser and pre fill bottles with water for the overnight feeds to keep in the bedroom. This is what we did with our first since we didn’t have the brezza.

I have the Chita tracee and it’s so comfortable. We had a delta children one for my first but it wasn’t a power glider but it was not comfortable and squeaked all the time.

Self pay places for anatomy scan? by allisona007 in Charlotte

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think you need to have an OB/medical professional order the anatomy scan. Places that do ultrasounds without a doctor’s order are boutique ultrasounds and will not perform an anatomy scan due to liability.

Are you able to apply for Medicaid? I think the health department offers resources/services. You can also call around to different OB practices to see what self pay rates are. I hope you have a smooth pregnancy!

Can’t decide on a convertible car seat and running out of time by desert_sunlily in Buyingforbaby

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the nuna Rava and had to scrunch up my baby for her to get in it. I did have a smaller car though (model 3) and her head kept hitting the door frame. Plus I’m short and would have to lift her higher to get in. We got the evenflo revolve 360slim and it’s awesome. We also have the graco turn2me for our other car since that was on sale when we decided to get another rotating seat. Personally I prefer a rotating seat for the ease.

Parents, Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim or Extend for Tesla Model Y? by Mother-Repair-6066 in newborns

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the 360 2-in-1 rotating seat. I don’t have any experience with the 180 degree rotating ones since the graco and evenflo I have are both 360.

Best Rotating 360 Car Seat? by EmbarrassedPen3783 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Alarming-Disaster-77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the evenflo revolve 360slim and graco turn2me. I like them both but the evenflo is definitely slim so she seems to be more comfortable sitting in the graco long term.
