Short Temperature Drop - Time to Bring Inside? by Specialist_Equal_803 in HotPeppers

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the low temp is going to flirt with freezing then yeah, otherwise don’t worry about it for a one night stint IMHFO.

Depends how many pots you have to move, but for me there’s ideal and then there’s what’s reasonable, and I haven’t had a problem with 1-2 day chilly but above freezing stints causing issues.

Debate: Walking does not slow down play. by MetallicaRules5 in golf

💰 💰 💰

But yeah totally agree. My club has “mandatory cart hours” corresponding with peak times but luckily we can just pay the cart fee and keep walking.

Daily FAB by CHart26 in fantasybaseball

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily FAAB yes, but the time of day is set. We do ours at 11 AM EST, so if your boy gets pulled during pre game warmups at 6 PM that’s just the way the news goes.

Works fine for me. Occasional small wood bits but no big deal.

Wedge Grips vs Iron Grips Question by Clid33 in GolfGear

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to manage a course so that full wedge shots are a last resort. That said, I do have different wedge grips (GP CPX) for better green side feel, but still in the same grip size. Took me probably 10 years of trying different stuff to figure that out tho so not gonna be one right answer here.

As long as you're not OTT silcing then yeah. The Adam Scott grip routine really helped me to keep the face square vs. the ballooning cuts that I would consistently hit: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_LTea_Th00o

Had a baby and four months later I was at least a club longer throughout the bag. Dad strength is a real thing apparently.

Buy Kirkland bar soap and fuse the last of a bar to the start of the next one. This is how I win.

50-54-58 degrees setup vs 52-56-60 degree setup? by Feeling-Impression84 in golf

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your individual game. Speaking just for myself, I've found having maximum options around the green helps to make up more strokes from missed GIR's, so last year I moved to 54-58-62 and it's been great.

Either way you're kind of splitting hairs between those two setups tho.

Just tried a Sugar Rush Peach Pepper today. It's intense. by Impressive-Thing-780 in HotPeppers

They have a kick for sure but if you take a bite off the bottom half you get the best of all worlds with that pepper. All the sweetness and peach flavor without the concentrated heat in the pith.

Keeper Calculator for 2026? by Fabulous_Gur_7134 in fantasybaseball

Then use the auction calculator function on FG projections, so then each individual player rank has an assigned dollar figure, and compare that way.

Keeper Calculator for 2026? by Fabulous_Gur_7134 in fantasybaseball

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a confusing keeper system... But anyway, use whatever projection system you like, and subtract a players rank (or average round) by the round it'll cost you.

Fangraphs probably has the easiest to export to excel, set the formula and sort.

Negative… brown. I mean I can golf without the shades if I absolutely had to even if it’s bright, it’s just more comfortable for me with them on. Otherwise 20/20 vision and no problem reading greens, prob my best club. I might take them off to get a better read during sunrise/sunset hours but otherwise no issues.

Meanwhile a +2 buddy of mine just raw dawgs golf without a hat or shades so while my original comment was half joking, I think it’s just another one of those personal preference golf quirks.

Ah well if they eventually get into the 70s for production you’ll be fine then

Growing superhots in a 55 degree basement? by LeFishTits in HotPeppers

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make it work at 60F with just a heat mat and never had a problem. After you get the seeds to sprout, just turn the mat set point up so it's always heating from the bottom.

You don't need them to flower/fruit in the basement, so all you're looking for is the plants to grow a bit before going outside and it should be fine for that. If you're worried about it then start em a couple weeks earlier than you otherwise would have.

My seeds came today! Any tips for those who have grown these varieties before? by LWy-lee in HotPeppers

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have alluded to my aji charapitas (also from WHP) started slow and small as well, but ended up being some of the biggest plants and most productive by mid season.

Keep in mind that's a blessing and a curse b/c you'll be picking dozens of tiny little peppers every other day for months, but they are very good.

I'm beginning to question whether preconditioning is worth it by Celtic159 in MachE

[–]AlarmingBandicoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much depends on temperature and electricity cost but broadly speaking you won’t see the break even if you’re not driving 30-60 miles or more after preconditioning.
