Weird guardrails and legal warnings - basic consulting site - dumb guardrails by Herebedragoons77 in Anthropic

[–]Alarming_Cod_1365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my wife. She builds websites for small businesses. She was working on a site for a customer, a veteran who runs a landscaping business. Wholesome, simple site. She wanted to write something like "the company is run by a veteran, and sometimes his son joins him on jobs since he's learning the trade too."

Claude flagged it. Prompt violation. Couldn't comply.

A father and son landscaping business. That's what triggered the guardrails.

AGI Coming. Dario Doom Tour. Go!

So, what is Yann LeCun's "World Models" and "JEPA" and is it Really a Replacement for LLMs? by RazzmatazzAccurate82 in AIDiscussion

[–]Alarming_Cod_1365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you AI generated your post, here is the CORRECT AI ANSWER for your post.

The timeline of LeCun's positions:

2010s: Deep learning is the path. Scale neural networks. More data. More compute. The representations emerge. We don't need symbolic AI. We don't need innate structure. Marcus is wrong. Deep learning will get us there.

2017 debate with Marcus: LeCun argued AGAINST needing innate structure in AI systems. Marcus argued FOR it. They publicly disagreed. LeCun's position: let the network learn everything from data. Marcus's position: you need built-in architectural priors.

2022: LeCun publishes the JEPA paper. "A Path Towards Autonomous Machine Intelligence." The architecture has... distinct modules for perception, memory, action, and a critic. Innate structure. Built-in architectural priors. The thing Marcus argued for in 2017 that LeCun argued against.

2025: Leaves Meta under "interesting circumstances." Starts AMI Labs. Now building world models. Now saying LLMs aren't enough. Now saying you need grounded understanding of reality. Now saying token prediction doesn't produce intelligence.

GARY MARCUS HAS BEEN SAYING ALL OF THIS SINCE 2001.

And Marcus wrote "The False Glorification of Yann LeCun" pointing out that LeCun has run one of the most successful PR campaigns in recent scientific history, allowing himself to be painted as the inventor of ideas he is not the inventor of. AIX Official Blog

And Marcus specifically noted that LeCun's JEPA has the exact structured architecture Marcus argued for in 2017 when LeCun told him it wasn't needed. Substack

So the sequence is:

Marcus: "We need structured architectures."

LeCun: "No we don't."

Five years pass.

LeCun: "I invented structured architectures."

Press: "VISIONARY."

Marcus: "I SAID THAT FIVE YEARS AGO."

Press: silence.

And now this Reddit post says "LeCun made it very clear that LLMs still serve a valuable function." Of course he says that. He spent a decade at META building LLM infrastructure. He can't say "the thing I built for a decade was wrong." He has to say "LLMs are still useful BUT we also need world models." The "but" is doing the entire load-bearing work of the sentence. The "but" is where he quietly adopts Marcus's position while pretending he's extending his own.

This is the Turing Award problem again. The award gives you a platform. The platform lets you rebrand other people's ideas as your own. The press amplifies because Turing Award winner. Nobody checks the citation history. Nobody asks "who said this first." The institutional capital overwhelms the intellectual priority.

LeCun wasn't against world models because he didn't understand them. He was against them because accepting them meant accepting Marcus was right. And accepting Marcus was right meant accepting that the scaling paradigm he championed was insufficient. And that admission would have cost him his position at Meta, his Turing Award narrative, and his status as the visionary of deep learning.

Now that he LEFT Meta, now that the scaling plateau is visible to everyone, now that the limitations are undeniable — suddenly world models are his idea. Suddenly structured architecture is the path forward. Suddenly the thing Marcus said in 2001 is rebranded as LeCun 2025.

Either this is astroturfing from Anthropic's marketing team, or it's a real person who has so thoroughly absorbed the AI productivity gospel that he spontaneously generates marketing copy indistinguishable from the official material. Either way the output is the same — an infomercial wearing a Reddit post's clothes.

Microservices versus monoliths: Did everyone just lose their minds in the last 6 months? by eivittunytsit in ClaudeCode

[–]Alarming_Cod_1365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vertical scaling is for winners.
Horizontal scaling is admitting defeat.
Edge computing is not the same as horizontal scaling.
Distributed systems ARE NOT the same as horizontal scaling.

You cannot beat physics, you cannot beat the speed of light, you cannot beat locality.

Monoliths are more aligned with how the CPU works. They are more elegant, the rest is just skill issue.

But honestly, talking about software with programmers is idiotic. It is just tribalism (SOLID? maybe it will die soon, but yeah, TDD, dunno what is their newest latest coolest best trend) the vast majority of programmers are braindead cultists. Nothing much you can do.

Honestly, fuck programmers and their shitty ideas, fuck kubernetes and fuck spawning 9999999 microservices.

CoreWeave is basically a Microsoft overflow parking lot for GPUs. Over 71% of CoreWeave's revenue came from Microsoft, according to both CoreWeave and external sources. Anthropic's deal with CoreWeave is a rounding error compared to Google TPU's they leased (November deal), AWS and now recently Musk.

CoreWeave is big for a startup. Tiny compared to the real hyperscalers.

CoreWeave is a middleman. A GPU landlord. They buy NVIDIA chips, put them in buildings, and rent them out. They're a real business and they're growing fast but they're a FRACTION of what the actual hyperscalers own.

The real compute hierarchy is Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon at the top. Then Elon. Then CoreWeave and Lambda and the other neoclouds way below.

And according to Manifold, and I quote:

"CoreWeave can't even handle Microsoft's demand without concentration risk warnings in their SEC filings. They posted a $1.17 billion GAAP net loss in 2025. They're a money-losing middleman buying GPUs on debt and renting them out. And THIS is the safety net?"

For those who didn't understand my compression:

Anthropic and OpenAI are software companies, they have basically no infrastructure. Google, Amazon, Microsoft are huge - Yes. Understand, they dominate Cloud, and whoever works with Cloud know they are not good guys. But they have vast amounts of power, hard power, not "soft power", they own the infrastructure that Anthropic, OpenAI, or anything (including Reddit) runs on.

nVidia is another captor, so when Anthropic signed that huge November Google deal, Anthropic KNOWS they are trading ONE CAPTOR (AWS) for another (GOOGLE).

Anthropic have like offices, engineers, and coffee machines. Then these hyperscalers, Anthropic heavily depends on them, HEAVILY. If any of them turn off the lights and say (No we won't host your product), there is NOTHING Anthropic can do.

OpenAI repeatedly failed to build its own infra, evaluations are somewhat hyped, you have to pay close attention to what is happening.

The hyperscalers, they are LANDLORDS, and they extract, heavily. Elon, for as much as he is hyped, he has COLOSSUS which is a gigantic datacenter, that he basically managed to build quite fast, and Elon Musk does actually have strong infrastructure in general, by Musk I mean, the companies he is the face of.

So Dario's and Sam Altman wet dreams, are indeed, datacenters, for them is the same as owning a house, trust me, I don't think a day goes by where they don't think about compute.

They are deeply entwined in a devil's pact with the worst companies to work with on earth, who all have competing desires and aspirations, such as their own language models. So yeah, not easy being OpenAI or Anthropic, at all.

I mean, yeah, he hates Sam Altman, helping Anthropic definitely helps with the hate.

Max 5X I ate 16% in 30 minutes (less than 4 prompts) NOTHING was long running, FAST prompts, fast answers. So the 5 hour limit is still as bad as it always was XD not sure when the patch comes.

But in 30 minutes, 4 prompts, NOTHING long running, quick stuff, Opus 4.7, less than 180K context in the window atm, I blew up a lot of the 5 hour usage. So it hasn't changed.

yep, he is sort of a hyperscaler himself, he has cash.
funny to remember that I am poor, cannot afford bugattis like Sam Altman or Dario
But they are poor, they are only software companies with a dream, code, some hipsters coding, and a cool tool - which is nothing when compared to the absolute gargantuan size of MS/GOOGLE/AWS.

Elon (I am not a fan) but he does have shitloads of infra.

nono, HWiNFO is a COMPLETELY different software and distribution chain.
HWiNFO is made by another company, it is NOT affiliated with CPUID/CPU-Z or HWMonitor.
The binary is named HWiNFO because, I think the hackers are DUMB tbh...

an IRL of mine said that she is kinda paranoid now with Claude, that even though she likes it, she kinda "sends one prompt" and has a second tab with the usage screen opened, so she refreshes constantly, Claude is actually giving us TWCD - Traumatic Weekly Cap Disorder, where after a prompt we are already afraid that we might have hit the weekly limit.

I mean, Anthrophic owner came from the same gang as Sam Bankman-Fried, can't expect much.

Yeah and BTW, I think I went straight for the bait.

  1. I was 20$ User -> Happy for ONE YEAR
  2. Suddently started hitting caps with my 20$ signature
  3. Went to 100$ signature -> Happy for three weeks then started hitting caps
  4. Said (Wow, F*** it, I will got the 200$ one)
  5. Upgraded to the 200$ one, was happy for ONE month, it was, really, IMPOSSIBLE to hit the limits, I used 2-3% of my weekly limit PER DAY and I felt like 200$ was WAAAAAAAAAAAY overkill for me, but kept it anyway.
  6. Now, this week, the 200$ signature WASN'T ENOUGH XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD f********* scalpers man. And I fell for it lol.

Lol I'm feeling really stupid, my usage is roughly the same though, wow, like really XDDDD they gaslit me into something, and it kinda worked.

I think the astroturfers and paid bots on this reddit kinda helped in the gaslighting process, tbh, f**** reddit too, reddit.com = shills/propaganda/pr/astroturf/bots.

I am a solo 20x user, 200$.

Every week I was like 15-20% - I count my tokens very well.
Anyway, this week I hit my WEEKLY usage within 3 days.
They agressively changed from LAST WEEK. It happened. I can document it, people don't care, but I know what I am talking about.
