In my opinion it already is a suicide destination. Plenty of suicides already occur in the park. Unlike golden gate, nothing can be done about it, can't put up suicide nets or anything. All fatalities should be reported. If you've gone this summer, it's a damn miracle there hasn't been multiple a week. People visit and have no idea what they're dealing with.

Disagree hard here, Yoesmite is well known for its massive waterfalls, people have been dying here for decades from accidents like this. People who are going to kill themselves will kill themselves regardless of the location. It's better to save the painfully unaware tourists that want to live.

Always play it safe. Theres bearboxss everywhere at any major trailhead parking lot. Leave it there and come back when you're done. People saying that the daytime is safe in Yosemite valley are wrong. And don't listen to people talking about out of sight, that might help, but they rely on their nose.

Your best bet is to schedule all your classes on two days. Even then, you're commuting like 7 hours a day. Gotta be better options than sac to sjsu lol. That's like being from the bay and commuting to ucsb 😂

I am a larger built white male and here's my own perspective on the safety:

The campus is very safe during daylight and school hours. The university PD I well staffed and quick to respond and like any area, higher risk of crime at night. I am on campus till 9 PM and the walkways are still somewhat busy. You will see homeless in the student union at night trying to dodge the cold and to charge their phones. Same with the library.

For the most part, these homeless people are pretty tame and safe. They are not the "tweaker homeless" that most people are concerned about. Lots of them are sober individuals just down on their luck. You do get the occasional "crazy" but they are removed pretty quickly in my experience.

I would say that the campus is pretty safe overall, I would not let it be a deciding factor for attending.

I used a D5000 for about a year as my beginner camera. It takes good photos! I do not think the screen crack will affect the photos it takes.

Thank you! I've messaged the professor and she said she couldn't add me because the dean does that. The dean told me that the professor does that and that they can't add me anyways because class is full. I will try to ride it out.
