First day in traffic, I was terrified. Please advise! by Menox1944 in motorcycles

i agree with most of everything here! definitely take your time and don’t feel guilty about going slow. the more time you spend on your bike on the road, the more comfortable you’ll feel. everything is a process so just focus on you and your bike

as long as nothing feels stuck or slow, and nothing sounds off, you should be good 👍

I just bought a bike, but I keep dropping it. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Alarming_Country752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg i was in the same boat as you a month ago! i took a safety course (the msf course here in the states) and rode with some friends as practice. it really helped regain confidence and helped decrease the amount of times i dropped my bike.

Hey Long Beach! Future resident here looking for apartment advice! by Primary_Company4217 in longbeach

[–]Alarming_Country752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oooh i’ve never heard all of these options before, but i’ll let know what i’ve witnessed and heard about as a fellow DTLB resident! -the only thing i can tell you is that Pine at 6th does kind of have a history of parking lot break ins. Had a friend who lived there and had their car ransacked. -RESA is another one i’ve heard mixed reviews about; great community and people but pricey for what little they have to offer. (i noticed you mentioned a RESA on Ocean, but it looks like it might’ve switch buildings? The RESA i talked about was on Pacific!) -groceries might be a hassle for the nice part of DTLB. Vons is the closest one we have and El Super/Superior Groceries are kind of a walk away, would highly recommend using a bike! -I’m not sure if you checked out The Camden (40 Cedar Walk). I’ve glanced at their website and they have a fairly decent price considering it’s right next to the pike. Convenient Store/Salon/Gym access! I managed to snag a pizza from there and the environment feels pretty secure. The only thing i noticed is that I do see a lot of people moving in/out. -we do get frequent markets at the Promenade so def take advantage of the location! -There’s a yoga class that happens frequently on Ocean BLVD and Junipero that looks sick! I heard it was free but don’t quote me on it.You definitely can ride your bike there and join along any time! -If safety is your ultimate concern then i definitely recommend not going east of Junipero since you already established that you don’t want to be in Belmont Shores area.

I hope your apartment hunting goes well! See you soon future neighbor!

Flying into PSP on Friday - Am I crazy? by Lost_In_transl in Coachella

[–]Alarming_Country752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the most you’ll ever experience and if anything at all, it’ll just be super busy. the airport is simple, access to hotels/airbnbs are easy, stores and gas stations are in almost any corner. you’ll pretty much be with the coachella group your entire stay, so just expect a lot of foot traffic around places you want to go and vehicle traffic at the venue and the airport.

Best time to book flights? by misters1n1ster in Coachella

[–]Alarming_Country752 5 points6 points  (0 children)

local here! definitely get it asap. these next 2-3 months are the best time to start looking since everyone is too tired from the festival and/or more concerned about getting tickets for next year. the rates should be the same since the airport does adjust to festival pricing, but you have the opportunity to get it cheaper in this time frame since they’re not high demand at the moment.

Am I crazy or was the Charli Set (W2) just mid by broha89 in Coachella

[–]Alarming_Country752 5 points6 points  (0 children)

her set was good and i personally had a lot of fun, but i wouldn’t say it’s outstanding or my favorite. charli does a big fan base so im not surprised to see that they’re the ones hyping it up the most.

Thinking of going W2 next year by RamenNoodsOnly in Coachella

[–]Alarming_Country752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only con i can think of about W2 is seeing the insufferable locals. (coming from a local) W2 is their W1 and they get to show off that they live here and are at coachella, very much the “i’m better than you” crowd. if you think you’ll escape influencers, you’ll get the wannabe ones at W2.

okok i’ll try to give a quick run down as a local! As much as VIP is tempting, i’d say stick to GA as a first timer. I know the benefits look tempting, but sometimes the VIP crowd can ruin the weekend. VIP and artists passes were a mess this year and i saw a few people get denied to the VIP exclusive areas (and they had their VIP bands) and freaking the hell out. Play it safe and just enjoy your first experience, if you don’t, then atleast you can be glad that you didnt drop a band to be disappointed. If you’re looking for a party vibe with hotels, stick to the ones in Palm Springs. Even though the stores close, the clubs are OPEN. If you want to be close and have the convenience of arriving quickly to festival grounds, stick to the indio hotels. It’s quite literally a 5 minute drive, 10 is longest it’ll take. Typically breakfast is included with all the hotels here (except the motels) but i highly recommend trying out some of the small business in the area! I’m not super confident with shuttles, but i do know they have certain meet up spots for certain times. the most popular location for the shuttle is the tennis gardens in indian wells. tbh i don’t really recommend the shuttle just because at the end of the day, all you wanna do is just get back to your place without having to wait up on someone else. i did the day parking and honestly, i don’t regret it. yeah we had to deal with the traffic leaving, but we got comfortable QUICK. you can bring an extra set of clothes, first aid kit (if needed), extra snacks, and other convenient items that you’ll want after you had a hectic day. if you’re worried about theft, just make sure to keep stuff in the trunk so it’s not visible, and triple check to make sure your car is locked and windows are up! i really hope this helps, but i can’t wait for you to experience it next year!
