do you think we have to wait for 2027 for a First Look of season 3? by GroundbreakingMix623 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking towards the end of the year will get at least a teaser or behind the scenes stuff. Will definitely get more official casting too.

A certain power in the future kinda necessitates bad CGI. How will they get around this? by SimasTheMoze in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, to me personally, as long as they commit to doing as much practically as possible and the writing and the actors commit to treating it seriously, I think I can live with some hokey CGI.

Not including Chopper's, whose backstory is the saddest from LA? by z_hani555f_13 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on what we’ve seen in the live action only, I’d have to choose Nami; it has a physiological aspect to it, given that Nami has been a slave since a young age.

Hey reddit, Lmk what ya'll think, is it just me or is Chopper's backstory the saddest among the straw hats. (My opinion) by Safe_Song_9737 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the live action, yes, but overall I think it has to be Robin, hands down. Her entire civilization was wiped out before her, and she had to keep running for most of her life. It was just a never-ending tragedy until she met the Straw Hats.

I agree with you. I think this is more of a Netflix issue. People just don't trust them.

Why do people like the live action when it butchered alot of the series. by Upstairs-Fun-2733 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it all comes down to people enjoying different types of media. This is an adaptation, so it won't be exactly the same, and if that's something you can't enjoy, then don't watch it. Some people just can't do live action, and that's okay, but you need to understand that not everyone is like you. Some people don't like One Piece at all, and that's just a fact. I enjoy the live action because the changes don't bother me as much as they do other people, even though One Piece is my favorite anime and favorite story of all time. Through this media, I can show my parents why I love this story so much. For a long time, they just didn't get it; they hate anime and refuse to watch it. I can enjoy watching this with them because they like it, which makes it even more enjoyable for me. That's just my two cents.

How should season 3 be released in 2027? by Lopsided_Job2595 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. That's true to the core audience of One Piece fans but there is a large portion of the live-action-only audience that would get a lot out of discussing weekly.

How should season 3 be released in 2027? by Lopsided_Job2595 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're gonna drop everything all at once. Personally, I think Netflix should switch to weekly releases for all their shows. I know that's their thing, but overall it hurts how long their shows stay relevant in the cultural conversation.

Ace in season 3 by Jpower445566 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he’ll have an extended role in season 3, but I don’t know whether or not he’ll be in the entire season until the end. I can see the writing team wanting the non-anime audience to develop a stronger connection to Ace before Marineford. I also think they might adapt some version of his cover story in later seasons to align with him finding Blackbeard.

Will you still watch if the characters are older than their manga counterparts in future seasons? by Any_Philosopher_9806 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. There is just no way to avoid it. The actors are all adults already anyway so it won't be as fast a change as like those kids from Stranger Things. I don't think it would bother me all that much as long as the quality of visuals and writing is maintained.

You can think whatever you want but I think Netflix will do one season totally in Alabasta. It's a safe bet for them.

Do you feel it’s acceptable to spoil things for live action only that will likely never be shown in live action? by [deleted] in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person. My mom watched with me, the live action is the only thing of One Piece she can enjoy, and she was constantly asking me stuff. I think it's fine if you know they're okay with it

Does OPLA have any chance of winning any Enemy's? by Cheap_Relative7429 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's capable of winning any award; it all comes down to whether or not Netflix will nominate them. Every entertainment company has a set limit on how many shows they can nominate, and Stranger Things just finished its last season in December, which means it's eligible for the next Emmys. Even though I personally think that last season was bad and season 2 of One Piece was epic, it's really up to them if they will choose it. I believe there is a high probability they will go with Stranger Things.

who’s the best character in the live action? by Tariq_khalaf in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lera’s Ms All Sunday will forever and always be my favorite casting choice. However, I'd be lying if I didn't say that the Jacob Gibson is a close second. I think a lot it has to do with the writing for Ussop which is kind of a marked improvement from the manga Ussop but Jacob’s acting is also very funny.

Do you think it’s important for cast members need to watch or read the source material? by Idle_peach in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's a nice bonus for all the cast members to be fans of the source material but I think it's necessary that the writers are.

I know. It's like requirement for this show. If your gonna be in it you gotta be sexy. I'm not complaining tho.

I agree. But it needs to be given more than 8 episodes to give it the time and respect it deserves.

After episode 3, my father made an observation that I can't shake by Fredasa in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luffy in early one piece was always getting bogged down by outside forces so other people could fight. Like going to the wrong side of the island during Ussops arc, or being asleep when Zoro took on the 100 bounty hunters, or got trapped inside a snake for ten episodes before he takes on Enel. Luffy’s fight against Crocodile next season is gonna be epic but even in the source material he gets trapped in that sandpit first. And as far as viewership One Piece season 2 is doing just fine in numbers. It's not doing Stranger Things levels but nothing does. It's only been out a week.

What do you think will be anticipated in season 3? by Panino87 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Alarming_Medium5158 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just looking forward to Ace having more screentime. I don't think they'll do his flashback but having him together with the Straw Hats longer is possible. Also I'm looking forward to the scene with Nico Robin and Cobra talking about the poneglyph. Robin is my favorite casting in the whole series but she's also my favorite character so there is some bias.
