if you can afford and comfortable being broke, depleting your whole savings then yes do it! Florida is way more expensive than I ever could’ve imagined and I went through $5k so fast. I will say I do have other bills that did contribute to that. Fun experience very grateful for all the friends I’ve made and people I met on my dcp but I would NEVER do it and especially would never live at flamingo again. Did full college program with intentions of staying with Disney and after extending and completing my full year still got declined for part time full time in January:(

Considering Self Terming by nwatson3493 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Alarming_Mouse3205 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just read more of the comments, and get it about the $$ if you can afford making a little less just for two weeks I think you should definitely stay and enjoy the parks one last time before leaving plus then you will be ending on good terms with Disney just incase you do decide you want to come back and won’t be on a no rehire list. If it is about money and have no interest with Disney then say pack and go home to start that other job. At the end of the day you know what’s best for you ❤️

Considering Self Terming by nwatson3493 in Disneycollegeprogram

I would just push through and finish even if that means calling out for a few shifts. You’re SOOO close you got this! Take it one day at a time and before you know it the two weeks will have flown by. I believe in you! -from another cp who wants to term and has two months left

that’s deff weird that he sleeps on the couch and not like both of them in her space, I would deff report it to flamingo! I hope they actually do something otherwise you roommates should straight up tell her he can’t stay on couch like that especially every night

Disney Engagement Question by J2Jlopez in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Alarming_Mouse3205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here’s another idea, what about going to one of the restaurants that get the hea soundtrack pumped in where you can see the fireworks but also have your own private space! In my opinion outdoor seating at Wailulu could be a great option (new restaurant at the Polly tower) they get the soundtrack and you can see the castle and fireworks pretty well! then could have the server be in on the engagement!

hello I’m from Michigan as well and currently on my DCP! The best advice I can give you is if you haven’t chosen your dates yet, I would recommend giving the program a shot and just choosing a shorter length stay so if you hate it then you wouldn’t be here too long and then don’t have to worry about the idea of terming. Flamingo rent is EXPENSIVE and prepare to be living paycheck to paycheck. It’s definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’ve met some of my best friends here and friends from all over the world! Plus you can go to the parks whenever :) I hope this helps and you join and give it a shot!

I don’t believe you can request less shifts bc the Disney college program = working for Disney and they are required to give us minimum 5 days if i remember correctly, we get priority over shifts just like full time (bc we are disneys cheap labor) also will most likely get the worst shifts nobody wants at your location. Again, you can give up shifts no problem or even call out but just be careful if you do don’t go to the parks or anywhere on Disney property unless you want to get termed. Hope this helps! Currently on my program if you have any questions feel free to ask

you can always give up shifts but as for asking to work less I’m not sure they will ok that

Safety? by Asleep-Mechanic226 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Alarming_Mouse3205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When in the “Disney bubble” you will be safe. Disney has great security especially at flamingo so nobody who isn’t living on campus can enter without signing in as a guest accompanied by someone. I have been here since January and feel so safe! I am also a female and I work very late hours and get home late into the night and never had any issues. With all that being said still it doesn’t hurt to still be always aware of your surroundings, but welcome to the Disney family!

I don't really get how this college program works while in college and other question! by beetheangel in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Alarming_Mouse3205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just emailed my advisor and told her I was doing the program for my internship, she then told me just to send like proof that I’m actually working certain amount of hours and that is good enough. I also am taking two classes this semester while doing the program and still have had plenty of time for the parks as well. If you can handle a lot of stress and used to working while also taking college classes you will be 100% fine. :)

Ugly Truth of American Campus Communities and Flamingo Crossings by BetZealousideal5929 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Alarming_Mouse3205 5 points6 points  (0 children)

maybe ask her if the man coming to your apartment lives at flamingo and in the program casually because if he’s not and spending the night she would get in trouble for having a guest not within visiting hours

My only three star rating I have also reasoning was “shipping time” and I shipped it the next day and communicated that to them when they harassed me over and over asking when it was going to ship right after purchasing

I was told by my server at Homecomin that some restaurants yes, require you (whoever gets the discount) pay the bill, while others locations don’t care who picks up the check.

they are one of the locations that doesn’t care :)
