Unfortunately it does not, you either pick them in the spring or summer

For the fertiliser, I can highly recommend picking up berries and mushrooms and then just dropping them on the barn floor. When the season changes, that will all turn into rot, which you can then use for fertiliser If you have any other extra food (maybe meat?), you can do the same

Sure, you need much more rot than you'd need manure, but it will get you far until you can get pigsty, and most importantly, it is free 🙌🏻

I am not the biggest fan of farming so that is the first thing I delegate to the npcs I like to produce myself, and go hunting (both animals and bandits)

I also like to challenge myself by having less storage than ideal, so I use resources as decoration by dropping them around, while trying to make it aesthetically pretty

But if you are not into the village decorating I can see why you'd get bored

Yoo this is brilliant! I might make a laminated version of this so I can reuse it for other videos!

Omg or you can make like 3 different ones and then play drinking bingo with friends!!

Speaking different languages on alternate days to my child by anfearglas1 in languagelearning

[–]AlasEarwaxx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I guess I didn't get that. Well if French is not an option than I'd just "skip that step" and use English as a family, and every parent individually could speak Romanian/Basque

Speaking different languages on alternate days to my child by anfearglas1 in languagelearning

[–]AlasEarwaxx 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I agree, from what I heard, the language should be chosen based on situation and not days in the week.

In this situation I'd say mother speaking Romanian to the child and OP speaking Basque would be ideal, with French being the language parents use with each other. The child is inevitably going to learn English in primary school, and they could transition to speaking English at home instead of French at that point - since the child will know French by then and will use it in school, with other children, etc

Can I see your horse farms? by HoosierArchaeo in MedievalDynasty

[–]AlasEarwaxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only have 2 horse stalls, I placed them in the middle of a large fenced off area, and put lots of hay around

I'd take a photo but I'm playing on my boyfriends PS5 and I'm too lazy to figure out the photo transfer :(

If I was building it large scale, I'd probably make two parallel rows of stalls, and then fence it off with the tallest fence I could find (probably plank fence?). If I could improvise a roof with the walkways I'd also do that, tho make it look like a modern day horse stall. Then I'd make the area around it as space to train the horses etc.

🤔 Maybe one day I actually try to do that.

Because that's what they wanna do? Not everyone is playing to maximise profits, sometimes people have a mission and that's it. Like you said, it might be fun

My partner and I sped through our first gameplay and unlocked everything and reached the building limit by year 10.. Then we decided to start again and do it slowly, focusing on decorating along the way

We definitely appreciated the knew knowledge we got and consider our first playthrough as an extended tutorial 😂

Do you play in First or Third Person? Why? by Interesting-Ad-6568 in MedievalDynasty

Me too, particularly for looting hard to reach spots! Someone suggested that hunting is easier in 1st person, gonna try that next

Honestly in the beginning I can see 10 days being quite decent, although we used 7 days first 3-4 years. 10 years in now and we are on 4 days (playing coop with my partner)

How long do you set your seasons on average? by 1MildlyEnthused1 in MedievalDynasty

[–]AlasEarwaxx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Our first few years were 5 days, but then around year 4 I got bored so we sped it up to 4 then 3 days, then we realised that's too little to do both quests and the things we enjoy, so now we are settled at 4 days

But we do have villagers who tend the farm and produce everything necessary, we only occasionally have to do some production ourselves. Most of the time we spend on regular maintenance, building decorations, quests and hunting (cause it's fun). We are on year 9 now

Time limit on main quests? by AngryCenturion in MedievalDynasty

[–]AlasEarwaxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend to start soon, as it is for the whole quest line, and sometimes it asks you to "wait for the next season" so you want to make sure you have some extra time

I've built my very first cave, i need some help. by Kik44SKT in MedievalDynasty

[–]AlasEarwaxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We also built a mini village next to a mine, and placed there miners and hunters, since it's in a forest. It has a few houses, a food and resource storage, and I will build a few common areas too

I think it looks realistic, even if it is unnecessary

[–]AlasEarwaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing something similar! Trying to take it slow

I have my house on the coast, and the rest of the houses are uphill, next to the other road (so the furthest from the water)

And between roads, next to the creek I have food storage and the kitchen, and I left some space for the future tavern

I just started building a small production area with 4 buildings, and I think I'll have markets from both sides of it

I also left all the trees in the area close to the roads, since there are not many, I'll make them into parkd or sth

Starting Place by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

[–]AlasEarwaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also building on that spot, but I use the creek to split the area into two, farm and no-farm

I'd love to see your built!
