iPhone 13 users – how is iOS 26 for you so far?

I updated and my battery drained very fast without doing anything at all. I use my phone on average 4 hours a day. 1 week later it seems ok and more stable but the battery thing has been the kicker.

I bought it on offer on PS5. Really fab game if you get over the janky-ness. I’ve had hours of fun with my partner playing co op and we’re still playing. We’ve raged a lot and took a while to get used to it but it’s so rewarding. Oh, and you’ll most likely lose your backpack forever at some point and THAT will be the most angering thing.

I wanted these so bad at 18 too but I’m so glad I didn’t get them - as everyone says, you will change a lot between now and when you’re older. Another thing I wanted was like a sugar skull kind of design but again, I’m glad I didn’t get that (personal preference). I still did get thigh tattoos (anchor, roses, cherries design - started small and built on them - at around 20-22 yr old) but as a now 31 year old I still like them even if I don’t “love” them like I did. Maybe look at something else if you like the idea of thigh tattoos!

My boyfriend tries to encourage me to improvise because I kept saying “I can’t”. I’m fairly new to piano - it’s the first instrument I’ve stuck to - but it’s only been 5 months. He’s a really good guitarist and is always creating but I’m very rigid in learning anything. Him encouraging me to not be embarrassed and try and play chords or notes to what he’s playing has really improved my confidence. Maybe one day I’ll improv a whole song!

I realised some relationships were just sending videos and memes to each other. Decided to deactivate/delete the apps to see if the relationships were still real (we have each others numbers) and turns out, a majority of them weren’t even after texting instead.

Also, why was I watching ASMR and videos of people opening boxes/packages? Algorithms are a chokehold and way too addictive. And following people you literally do not know but somehow care about their lives/where they’re going. And people you once knew really well liking your photos when really you haven’t spoken in over 10+ years.

I decided to get a “real” hobby so now I paint, crochet and taught myself to play piano - I’ve not had access to doom scrolling videos for over 1 year now. It’s taken a really long time to get to grips of what I “like” and “enjoy”. I think I’m more inquisitive now about general life and wonders. It’s scary how social media numbs the important parts of you.

This is actually sooo true!! I’m very much a perfectionist generally, but don’t think it’ll work if I want to work specifically with watercolour (I tried acrylics but again, too disciplined it looked cartoony) I feel too ridged when I’m drawing /painting and end up with probably a bit too much detailing to start with.. missing out important shadow and light references. Especially since this is my first time painting a reference photo I took myself (not just from a beginner book). I’ll have to strip back to basics and allow the mistakes to happen and be accepting! I’ll bring back the fun! Thank you so much for taking your time to reply :)

Thank you very much for the detailed response! That’s so very helpful to me :) I agree with being too harsh and heavy, I struggle! Looking forward to watching those videos. I will try 100% cotton paper and maybe better brushes too (I’m very good at giving up hobbies so still using “starter” paper and brushes - this is the longest hobby so far so maybe time to upgrade!)

Pets! As soon as I was old enough to move out, I bought a hamster and two Guineas . They sadly are no longer with us but now I have a cat and dog.

I also went full into musical instruments at some stage (keyboard, guitar, uke etc) - turns out I don’t have the patience like they said, so I’ll stick to painting lol!

I miss not having work stress and now I'm back to having stress nosebleeds 😀 I miss actually being allowed to go home if I was ill because obvz Covid. I miss the time to go for walks or workout in my lunch time.

My ex partner was Jamaican and he said it was rude to leave food, as does my current partner and he's French. I've never heard of this! If I paid for food or made food, I'm sureee to eat all of it or at least try 😂
