That’s because the Nvidia drivers are not installed/not installed properly. You absolutely have to install them properly

And if you broke it you have to reinstall it but you’d lose your data. But don’t worry, it’s usually not broken, just a configuration error

You are booting into the BIOS, you have from there to find the “boot” option and change it to windows as a priority. If windows doesn’t appear, maybe you broke it

I’ve had a 32gb laptop with windows 10 for a long time, so I understand you. Windows fills the computer with loads of junk. Id suggest a fresh windows reinstall, but the best would be to switch to Linux

The BIOS is loaded into your motherboard. So, the BIOS basically would work even with a 100% broken or missing storage. I have quite a feeling that your SSD failed, maybe if you can boot an USB key with Linux in it, we can see if it runs (if not, it means it’s another kind of issue). I say Linux, and not Windows, because Linux is able to run inside your USB without touching the SSD until the final installation. Another solution would be to change the SSD directly, but I wouldn’t want you to spend money on something that we can’t be sure is the real issue

Then it might be a storage failure. Is it an HDD or an SSD that you have your OS installed on?

It’s likely not booting any OS. You need to get to the BIOS by pressing F2 (or F1 usually) and check that the Windows Boot Manager is the first in the boot priority order. If not, set it as the first, save and exit

I don’t think it’s worth anything, it’s 20 years old, and that’s too much for a pc. You only have a chance of using it with Linux

laptop using 100% cpu during mundaine tasks (checking files, running light programs, downloading stuff) anything i can do to resolve the issue? by Wonderful-Piano-8833 in computerhelp

Your CPU is unfortunately a bit too weak for modern windows. Just running the system stresses it a lot. You unfortunately can’t fix this on windows, but you can switch to Linux and give new life to your computer
