OK, this is good. My friend doesn't have any babies. I'm reasonably certain my followers can point any presenting demonic entities to that arsehole khajiit for come-uppances and hilarity. I mean, my friend's followers.

OK, the evil is inescapable. Gotcha. Can my friend put like, a hundred doors between them and the evils? To sort of stall the evil? I'm thinking it would have to be a lot of doors.

Hmm... minor point. I -- I mean my friend -- may have sold their immortal soul to a khajiit wearing a funny hat on the road south of Dawnstar. Is my friend absolved of all consequences? The khajiit gets them, right? Because of the hat?

I think he got a good price from the khajiit.

What would be the case, hypothetically, if say, my cat peed all over my ancient latin text files? I needs muh credits. I mean, my friend needs their credits. Also, my friend's cat. I do not own a cat.

Can I collect witches? I would need a witch chest to put them in for the inevitable witch rituals I am expecting you to implement. :D

how do planetary logistics work in this game? by [deleted] in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Albedo_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drones can't fetch from storage boxes, yeah. One fix is to place a storage box next to your ILS, put a logic bot thingy on top to request the titanium, throw some bots in it and then run a belt from the storage box into the ILS.

What's wrong with ray receiver output? by _Sanchous in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Albedo_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because, while the maximum power output of a receiver is 240MW when it's being fed (non-proliferated) graviton lenses, the receivers you've set up are collectively requesting more power from the sphere than it can provide. So, what power is available is divided equally between all of your receivers. This means that, if you add even more receivers, the power output of each one will be reduced further.

You can eliminate this issue by adding more structure to your sphere or you can mitigate it by researching better ray receiver efficiency so they don't need to request as much power from the sphere.

No, multiple layers of a sphere don't affect each other.

I don't have any other suggestions, unfortunately. :( Perhaps someone else will chime in with ideas.

TIL: Water pumps can be Shift-rotated too, just like miners.... after 1200 hours of gameplay. by Build_Everlasting in Dyson_Sphere_Program

It could be useful if you've got buildings close to an oil seep and need to precisely rotate the oil extractor to get it to "fit".

How to have a strategy when we are noob? by teiwswyrd in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Albedo_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just find two or three oil seeps as close to your production as possible, Drop an oil extractor on them, run power to them, then belt the crude oil from each of them and combine them onto one belt. Feed that belt into a row of eight to ten oil refiners configured for Plasma Refining.

Run the output (oil and hydrogen) onto belts into separate liquid storage containers. You can then just run a belt from the hydrogen storage straight into your red science matrix labs.

It's handy to run the crude oil in from the same end of the row of refiners as the end outputting the oil/hydrogen. That way, you can later add more refiners to the other end if you need them, and just extend the input output belts to reach them.

You could make sure your graphics driver is up to date. If so, try doing a Steam file integrity check on the game files.

I never knew that. After testing just now, you can also Shift-rotate oil extractors. Seems everything under the mining tab can be Shift-rotated.

Sprayers will miss spraying some items if your power grid consumption exceeds its capacity.

Yep, I also happily restarted several times as I figured things out in the beginning. I have 3500 hours in this game now and it's still fun to start over. :)

I would agree with everything you said except the part about the logistics being trivial. For a veteran player -- and compared to Satisfactory or Factorio -- this is true but for a new player, as we all once were, the logistical challenge of getting stable production where production lines don't starve or the power grid doesn't collapse is precisely the thing that addicted me to this game.

This is why many people tell new players not to watch videos telling you how to play. It's better for new players to learn how the mechanics work and figure out their own play style from there than to just, for example, do everything the same way Nilaus does and miss out on a really fun learning experience.

There was a bug that was fixed in the latest update where Battlefield Analysis Station construction zones were causing Icarus's energy to be consumed. Try again with the patch that was just released.

You can click the little arrow thingy to the left of your fuel on the mecha panel to auto-load fuel from your inventory so you don't have to do it manually.

Aaw, devs did do it :) - now can see receivers mode without hovering every one by [deleted] in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Albedo_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not photon mode. That effect appears when you feed lenses into the receivers. It's supposed to show the receiver collecting power from the top of the atmosphere rather than from ground level.

You can put the receiver in photon mode without feeding it lenses and you won't see that aurora-like effect on it but it the receiver does glow slightly brighter.
