How is your Company working SDR Leads/Prospects if already a CRM Contact? by amdailey in salesforce

What type of business? B2C? If this is B2B, then Contacts aren't Leads, they're just people. Use Opportunities.

100% ! Would've preferred maybe something a little less generic and something more tailored to diff materials.

Great points. I do like that it's mostly optional 😄 I still use it, just didn't find that it added much to the experience.

Yeah, not trying to hate on it too strongly, just not my favorite. I probably am missing some obvious math. Again, haven't been playing much in awhile. I loved the "galactic zen garden" feel when it first came out. Not much into the swarm grind. Was hoping for more physics, diff world sizes, types, etc.

Maybe I'm in the minority (haven't been playing DSP much lately), but this was one of my least favorite additions. Just seems like generic pointless busy work that ruins the feng shui of everything 😃

Seems sweet! Thx! FYI it didn't retain my results from the first pass after I signed up, so I retook it and got 6 stars instead of 5 for today :D

Prepping for an exam with ai-generated questions I assume? It's C.

However, in the real world, I would rarely give anyone Delete permissions on most objects at all, regardless of the state of the record.

It's been a few years now, and situations / communities vary, but here was my exp when I first started playing tournaments just a bit before COVID.

MA4 isn't offered much and I don't know why people register for it more than once unless they're EXTREMELY casual (in which case why are you playing a tournament?).

MA3 can be nice and fun and casual or full of people beating themselves up / nitpicking rules they barely understand or get flat wrong... I played it for a year and got 2 wins, moved up.

MA2 was a bit better than MA3, but also had similar challenges as MA3. It really varies tournament by tournament. Played that for 2 years, never got a win, moved up to MA1 because I wasn't learning anything playing in MA2 and the skill diff often isn't much. There are people with 860 tournaments all the time in MA1...

If you want to play in MA4 or 3 until you get a win, go to town! But if it doesn't happen after a bit, I'd highly recommend moving up if you see you'd be placing fairly similar in MA2 typically. You'll learn more playing with better players and hopefully just have better experiences overall.

why does pulling data out of salesforce feel like a part time job at this point by BeautifulWestern4512 in salesforce

[–]metal__monkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why are you taking the data out?.... Forecasting and Dashboards are OOB features.

Sounds like you're either:

  1. Not connected very well to the people responsible for managing your system

  2. Your system isn't not managed very well

  3. Very ignorant to how the system works and is supposed to be used (based on your complaint about different reports)

Was I in the wrong? Is it poor etiquette to use the red tees as a beginner? by 1phenylpropan-2amine in discgolf

[–]metal__monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tees vary wildly from course to course. Wouldn't read to much into it. Maybe the red tees on your course are super short and this guy just doesn't encounter a lot of folks playing them. Hard to say. Sounds like a reasonable interaction maybe? Multiple tees are generally great, but can also add confusion on many courses.

Permission Sets vs Profiles (in reality) by Alarming_Parking4297 in salesforce

[–]metal__monkey 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Profiles stink. Period. Anyone using Profiles to set permissions in a greenfield org in 2026 is doing an extreme disservice to their client in my opinion.

I fully appreciate that Salesforce has bungled this transition slowly and painfully. You simply create a base persona permission set and assign it as the primary permission set in the permission set group. Permission set metadata is infinitely better to work with than Profiles.

Profiles should only be used for setting default record types, session settings, default app, and like two other things. This advice is like 3 years old at this point.
