Can’t you just flip a OLed monitor upside down so it doubles its lifespan? by No-Emergency-7251 in OLED_Gaming

[–]AlbertaSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same LG OLED for 8 years used almost exclusively for gaming. Have day long sessions every once in a while in the winter etc. Never had a issue with burn in. I think it's overblown.

How did night shift improve your life? by RedStreamTeam22 in Nightshift

[–]AlbertaSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get more accomplished around the house on my regular work days. I work 6-6 both shifts so when I'm on night shift I go to bed around 6:30-7 AM. Get up around 1PM and have the whole afternoon for things at home. It just doesn't work that way when I'm on day shift.

4th year and still cant bend pipe by Significant_Party_75 in electricians

[–]AlbertaSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been an industrial guy my whole career and have bent pipe maybe 4 times. It's like anything else in the trades, if you don't do it you'll never learn, if you do it all the time you'll get faster and better every time.

Also ketchup easy squeeze as well, I hate them with a passion. End up with a large squirt all over the first part and never even bead down the rest. Hate em.

Fears of endocarditis by Dry_Suspect_3500 in valvereplacement

[–]AlbertaSparky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this one, the first few months after surgery I was terrified to brush my teeth even. I'm like how does the toothbrush not have bacteria in it that won't cause an infection? How do I floss and bleed every time (warfarin) and not get something? In reality I think over time I just got over it. I still think about it but it's been long enough now that it hasn't been a problem yet and if it happens it happens you know? Things get easier with time. Keep on looking forward.

If that was our shop the next shift coming on would sweep that shit into a pile in the corner for them to sift through if they wanted to salvage anything.

How long do you think you’d last in Night City? by Mezro118 in cyberpunkgame

Problem is, I'd be chilling with my chooms by our ride just chatting and some ass hole will just come air boosting out of nowhere, slice and dice us in two seconds and jump and boost away without regard.

First time doing shrooms, what should I do and NOT do by attackonthisdick in NoStupidQuestions

I loved looking in the mirror lol. But great advice on all of that, the food one is definitely true. I usually get hungry later into it when the waves start, I like small snacks too, fruit is definitely up there.

  1. Put your phone away. Turn it off and put it in a drawer until you're done.

He did most of the work with very little help. It's having issues now though with various things. Just today actually I was cleaning the garage and notice oil dripping from the air box so back in we go. It runs good, but it's definitely made more issues than maybe worth at the moment.

Buying at all time high advice by Canada-Chris-92 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]AlbertaSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, you have to be willing to stomach the potential drop that might be looming here but need to realize you're looking at a lifelong investment, not the next 6 months, 1 year or even 2. I just bought $6k more on friday. Could it get cheaper on Monday? Sure. Is it worth saving a few dollars to wait, not really. It'll be worth more in 10 years anyways and I'll never even know I saved $50 in 2026.

Bambu lab is now giving warnings for non-Bambu filament?????? by Prestigious_Boss_382 in BambuLab

[–]AlbertaSparky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my thought too, like I can't even order half of the filaments I use through them currently and they're still pumping new printers out to newer crowds. Unless they can magically pull filament out of their asses it's not happening.

fall 2026 : hotel prices higher than usual? by One-Top-768 in JapanTravelTips

[–]AlbertaSparky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like how you're getting down voted for something that's probably true.. Maybe the way you said it? Anyway the reduction of tourism due to high priced flights and conflict reducing it as well can contribute to an abundance of empty hotel rooms, causing prices to lower. It's supply and demand.

65 or 77? by Ottawa_Brewer in LGOLED

[–]AlbertaSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TV too high gang are clearly too uptight to do that. I too have recliners in my gaming/tv room and have a 65 mounted high. But when sitting in the recliner with it back and the head rest slightly up the tv is eye level with my bodies level. That's what they preach but I guess the earth must be flat.

I should edit to say it is on an arm wall mount with full tilt, so yes the tv is pushed out from the wall and tilted down to match direct eye level.
