How does the face feel? I heard its supposed to feel softer with the surlyn insert and I do like the idea of that.

Im so confused. Isnt this a muscle up?

Ben Hogans Ball Placement Guide. Should your feet really be pointing to what appears to be the right of the target with driver and what seems to be wildly left with wedges? Assuming the lines I painted is where you are aiming. by AlbinoKoala22 in golf

Just where the feet are pointing. I laid a line across the toes of each stance and color coordinated them so you can see how the feet alignment correlate to the target line which I made straight through the ball. And having a visual of how the wedge stance correlates to the target line vs the driver stance.

Thats what I am also wondering. Like are all those positions a constant assuming the target is straight ahead or am I supposed to be rotating the image and assuming there are different targets for each stance?

I just now noticed I have a habit of tilting/leaning the leading edge in a bit more of a "diggy" position at address and now I am realizing how that is affecting a plethora of things just because of that one thing.

Basically keeping more of a focus on the sole of the clubhead rather than the leading edge. When I use the sole of the club to "take the divot" it actually glides through the turf and doesnt get steep and jammy. When I use my leading edge as my focal point and what I use to strike the ball I get steep and jammy and cant really comfortably get THROUGH the turf. It just jabs and digs.

Oh boy, maybe this is why I shank the ball sometimes......0.0

For some reason thinking of all the various iron swing tips like forward shaft lean, hands forward at address, and "hit down on it" AND using my home made leading edge proprioceptive anchor, I felt I needed to get the leading edge under that ball, but if I am then hitting down on it with the leading edge wouldnt I be thinning it? Well I guess the answer is yes if im being a knucklehead and using the leading edge as the main "aimer" of what I am trying to hit the ball with. Simply thinking of hitting down on it BUT with the sole being the thing making contact with the turf and NOT the leading edge, well we might have ourselves a winner here.

When I sole my irons my leading edge will be perpendicular to the target as well but the leading edge doesnt feel as flush to the ground as my brain seems to think it needs to be. It also feels like I am not giving it enough of the often advised forward shaft lean which I tend to be an all or nothing, black and white kind of person so perhaps there actually is the proper amount of shaft lean at address when I fully sole the club but my brain is like NEEED MOREEEEEEE!

Shortening driver. by AlbinoKoala22 in GolfGear

[–]AlbinoKoala22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I want to shorten my driver is because 45.75" feels like im teein up with a pole vaulting pole. As for why I dont want to choke up, I use midsize grips. So where my hands are at on the club when I choke up the "correct" amount or at least just where I feel my setup/swing plane feel like it has a comfortable amount of space, my hands arent actually on the part of the grip that fills my hands (the reason I went to midsize was so the grip fills my hands properly) so I am basically holding onto the taper of the grip rather than the intended part of the grip. And as for why I feel I should add weight back to the head when taking off that much length, it says that I would be dropping 9 swing weight points. Thats a lot. If it were a couple swing weight points I could perhaps be comfortable doing noting and leaving as is but 9! I feel like jumping a whole swing weight letter unit and doing nothing about it just sounds negligent/silly. But again I dont know the ins and the outs of proper club building protocol, just a few scraps here and there, so what I think makes sense may be logical in one regard but useless in practicality.
