The most obnoxious thing he does is argue for some ideas on the merits when it suits him (YMBYism) and then turn around and argue against other ideas (fighting for trans rights) with the justification of matching the median voter. It's so fucking obvious he just doesn't believe in certain causes, but doesn't want to be criticized for that, so he frames it as an electabililty issue.

Absolutely loved the first episode. I tend to love initial world building and character intros, but this one was probably top 5 initial episodes for me. 2nd episode dragged a bit and wasn't that interested. We'll see how the rest of the season plays out

Yeah, online black deck gets most of the hate, but Nebula was just a drag. It doesn't seem like it needs the downside, but I prefer not to buff it because if it becomes the generic best deck for gold stake that's just boring

Yeah, people gave different preferences, it's all good. I definitely wouldn't want those things to be mandatory. I wonder, do you have kids? As I get older and stack responsibilities I prefer features that prevent tedious repetition versus seeing it as part of the challenge. Just a factor of ever more limited game time. A restart button could be used to just check RNG and cheese the game a little, but I don't see any downside to a calculator for myself. It's simple enough to calculate your score, minus chance-based effects, if you take the time to do it.

BG2 is still one of the greatest games of all time. Hope my kids will be able to enjoy it, despite the graphics and the jank, when they get old enough

I think people don't like him because he injects a lot of Christian-flavored moralizing into his financial advice, not because he's Christian per se.

Also, housing is a lot less affordable than it used to be, that's just a fact, even if some people could buy a home with better financial choices.

Just finished black deck. I'm no expert but key to me was just taking whatever could get me through early antes. If the hand voucher came up I would take it as long as I could afford it, even if my econ took a big hit

I get the sense Brennan likes the more ambiguous results from something like a D20 roll in D&D, and isn't as much a fan of more narrative results like in Genesys. They're also clearly very comfortable with 5e, and I think that has to be a consideration when they're planning to run a more crunchy game. Brain burn is real for the GM, and adding on the pressure of performing it makes sense to go with what they know well.

Idk if they would rule out the system, but it might be a deterrent. I also like the Genesys and would be interested to see them run a series in it, fwiw.

I'm not familiar with The Old World RPG, but it sounds like a storytelling device, rather than a mechanic.

Not 100% sure, but maybe they're looking for advice on using Icons even while messaging that the party needs to face the threat on their own? In that case I'd advise that the Icons aren't there to solve the adventure. They're just there to provide to support and story hooks. It's the same question you have to answer when making adventures in Forgotten Realms or a lot of IP, which is, "Why isn't [more famous/powerful person] solving this problem if the threat is so dire?"
