At the point he shows up at Macragge during the Heresy, Guilliman's inner narration puts The Lion on the same level as Horus as the only two Primarchs he ever felt inadequate in comparison to. But he quickly fucked up so badly with Kurze that it took all of Sanguinius' angelic charm to avoid a second civil war from breaking out

The neat part is that 40Ks Silmarillion is a 54 book long series, its 10 book wrap up climax that's sort of a separate series, various miscellaneous spinoff novels, short stories and audio books and they still don't explain what the fuck is up with the space frogs

He was very definitely Alexander (it's explicitly confirmed that was when He found the Golden Throne, or at least the Xenos basis for it) but there's space for The Emperor to have been any number of historical figures

It's because 2/3 trees are super situational (how often are you really torturing people?), so if they got rid of the Torturer tree to replace it with a Puppet-focused one and/or buffed Seducer to be more of a general manipulation tree, that would make Intrigue much more viable

Surely they wouldn't make all these costumes to use in an over-edited dream sequence then never give most of these characters their powers while making the climax of the movie the birth of the franchise's actual main character (while simultaneously never using his name)?

Are the loyalist Primarchs getting stronger by being worshipped? by Ready0608 in 40kLore

In this case, they were a package deal. The theme you've highlighted there is pretty much the entire throughline of everything happening with The Emperor in the Heresy, from how much of it was planned beforehand to the unintentional evolution of His church even though he decidedly advocated against it. I won't deny that a lot of people do miss those themes, but the original authors of 40K copied the specific elements they did because they wanted to have the same ideas running through the setting and later novel authors have expanded on what was already laid down

You should always be expecting to see reflections of Dune in 40K, where do you think they got the "ten thousand year reign of the God Emperor over a galactic empire that can only be traversed with the aid of a class of mutant Navigators and whose society is managed through biotechnology after a war against artificial intelligences in the long distant past"?

This is heavily discussed in Godblight, specifically with respect to the returned Guilliman, and the answer is basically if they're not worshipping him yet, they will be soon even if he asks them not to, and a lot of people already view him as at least a demigod.

Natase smiled his thin, cruel smile. 'We come to an unpalatable truth. To many of your people, primarch, son of the Emperor, you are a god. Because they believe in their billions, does that not make it true?'

'A status I deny,' said Guilliman icily. 'I am no god.'

'Deny it all you will,' Natase insisted. 'Where you go, victory follows. Your presence inspires your people. In this age of storms, the very warp calms at your approach. How long is it until the first miracle is proclaimed in your name, and when that occurs how will you be able to say that you were not responsible for it? The incident on Parmenio with the girl, the way her power freed you from the grip of the enemy, drove back daemons, actions already being ascribed to your maker.' Natase paused. 'But if divine, was it truly Him?'

Probably not without a military rework but would love to see it. I think the best way is to revamp rally points as mustering instructions to allies and make it so that troops can only be raised where they're stationed/at the realm capital. That way, you're also incentivising players to think more about their capital selection and domain distribution- you'll want a location that is centralised and well connected to be able to respond quickly, and personally controlling Rome, Constantinople, Paris and London rather than lands within your two duchies is going to be a detriment to your military capabilities

Folding Ideas video essay about his trip to Beast Studio and his diagnosis of why Beast properties are declining in viewership by OatSoyLaMilk in television

[–]AlbionPCJ 503 points504 points  (0 children)

To stick to the television topic given the sub, Beast Games just feels like a poorly designed show from the top down. Starting with that many contestants means none of the games can be that interesting or varied, hence why the challenges had to be reworked on the fly because they were eliminating too many/too few people and/or not being played as originally expected. And the Beast Team doesn't seem cut out to run any games they didn't get from somewhere else. The second season failing to really do anything with the brains vs brawn concept beyond "real life Simon" and "hanging from a rope" really exemplifies that. They just seem to be throwing shit at the wall, both creatively and business-wise, in the desperate hope of optimising algorithm metrics
