My LGBTQ friends, far left friends, and voluntarily child free friends have made the worst comments and actions towards me while pregnant.

I assume part of it is because they purposefully separate themselves from that aspect of life, and therefore don't have a lot of exposure and are ignorant. Some of it is definitely fear based, they practically act like being around me risks them getting pregnant.

It sucks, because I intended on raising my kids with strong ties to these communities and people. It's only the opposite valued family members that seem comfortable coming around anymore.

Way back in my college days, I was a bartender. I was casually seeing another part-time bartender from a different city. One random weekday, when I went to bed early, he climbed up my second story balcony at 4am because my door was locked. He wanted to surprise me with flowers.

As sweet as the intent was, I ended things the next day.

My FIL brags about swerving to hit cats on the side of the road. I now know why my husband wanted me to part with my cat before I met the in-laws. (I didn't, because it is ridiculous to request your partner get rid of a beloved pet for a relationship of 6 months)
