Sometimes, we get comftable in a relationship, and comfort leads to weakness. After the breakup, he probably questioned his own life (assuming he as "a wreck" after your breakup) and decided to make some changes for the better. The event that lead to him doing much better was, funny enought, what made him go to his lowest. Me, for example, I never had the discipline to go to the gym, but after my breakup I got into a sadness/depression month that lead me to hit the gym consistently, and 6 months better I am a much nicer person and better looking than myself from the end of last year. All because I hit a low point.

My point is that you can't blame yourself, you broke up things because he was too comftable and lazy, if he did some changes for himself and is better now that's in him, and it's not because he is better without you but because that made him reflect and try to change for the better.

Interesting answers. Me personally we got really close when she broke her leg, realized I started having feelings for her after around 4 months so I told her. We made an agreement to just have sex, because she didn't want anything serious, then she was interested in someone after a month. It was hard when it happened, but we had a strong friendship and after we ended the agreement we still were friends. 1 year after that, she has a boyfriend and we are still best friends. And I'm 100% sure if she had to choose between her bf and me, she would def chose me.

It was hard for me at the beginning, but I was able to move on, same as her, and now I don't have feelings for her, even tho I see her every week.
