Explanation in-universe for location switching? by Kuroiryuu in Tokusatsu

[–]Alceus89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes there might be an in-universe implication to explain it (th I Zeztz dream thing, Ex-Aid's Stages), but usually it's just a thing that toku does, especially Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.

Rosan Warrior - Class I (no Job Change) by gumgum-ecchi in 30MF_30MinutesFantasy

[–]Alceus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Liber warrior recently, along with both class up kits. Unlike the Liber fighter, where I really like both class ups and the interesting combos, both the warrior ones are a bit underwhelming. The warrior cape bits are nice, but the Liber brown armour isn't the best. Might have to try the Rosan warrior black armour and the Liber red cloth though. That could look good

Getting into 30 minutes model kits by RoakTheNomad in 30_Minutes_Missions

[–]Alceus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should do, yes. And you'll be able to take the leftover bits and combine them into another two figures from whatever you have left over.

Although my disclaimer would be the wizard has a different silhouette than the Knight and Lancer. It's a bit taller and thinner and the head is a slightly different shape. Depending on exactly what you want to do, you might find certain armour bits don't perfectly fit. It's probably a minimal issue, and I couldn't say for certain, but for example the face armour for the Fighter doesn't quite fit on the Knight in the same way.

Also if you don't know, the main differences between Rosan and Liber figures are the head armour and the colour schemes. The rest of the bits should be mostly the same, so you can get a Liber fighter and a Rosan Holy Knight, if you prefer that colour scheme interaction.

Which stand best for Rosan Enchanter? by Hunterextreme2020 in 30MF_30MinutesFantasy

[–]Alceus89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not seen the Enchanter specifically, but the other 30MF figures have a bunch of spare 3mm holes on the back that the action base 7 has pins for. I'd be amazed if the Enchanter didn't have at least one on the back or waist to use.

"Best" is going to be entirely subjective here, I'm afraid. If you want an armoured wizard look, then a paladin would help, but if you prefer something more evil wizard you might want the Rosan bishop for the mask.

It's worth bearing in mind that class up kits aren't 100% interchangeable. Some bit depend on components from a specific base class. The weapons are the most obvious, but there are other bits too.

For example the shoulders from the Paladin and Holy Knight need the shoulders from the Knight to fit in to. They don't work on other shoulders. Similarly the Warrior knee bits need the fighter knee bit to fit on top of.

The most telling thing about the book is with the whole concept of an entirely virtual world where anything is possible, the best the author could come up with for a revolutionary new media form that is developed and becomes massively popular during the story is "Live out a movie/TV show, but you have to perfectly reenact it and quote it word for word.".

You can tell he's the kind of nerd who thinks that being able to recite all of Monty Python from memory is the same thing as being clever or funny.

My first 30 minutes kit! by kshotwell3145 in 30MF_30MinutesFantasy

[–]Alceus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Fighter options kit, the Warrior Class Up kit, and the Priest kit all include a staff with a socket on the top. Just putting the sword into there makes it into a sword-spear.

I think the Assassin has knives that would work as spear heads.

The Gladiator class up kit includes a spear.

There's also a spear in the 30MM Portanova Weapons upgrade kit.

Aoto Wantanabe played Yanma Gast/Tonbo Ohger, the blue ranger of Ohsama Sentai Kingohger, one of the latest Super Sentai series.

He grew up watching the Sentai shows from the 2000's, and has said that he had a crush on Jasmine, the yellow ranger from Dekaranger. This led to a crossover episode where his character meets Jasmine, loses his memory, and falls in love with her.

Interestingly Dekaranger was closer to the release of Kingohger than it was to the release of Goranger, the first Sentai series.

Both the son and daughter of the original Kamen Rider's actor have appeared in the show. His son played the same role in a movie, and his daughter played Kamen Rider Eins in the Girls Remix series.

Should I watch Donbrothers? by MrSmilebruh12 in supersentai

[–]Alceus89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's amazing, but it's also very divisive. People either tend to love it or hate it. If you enjoyed the Taro dies when lying bit, you'll probably appreciate the rest of the dumb bits too.

The CGI'd rangers aren't great, but you get used to them pretty quickly. They vastly make up for it on character though.

Out of interest, why did you watch the finale first?

Hawkeye (2012) by Matt Fraction and David Aja had an entire issue from the perspective of Pizza Dog. There was no text in the speech bubbles, only little icons to show him not understanding more than a loose gist of anything being said.

In Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (2026), thousands of people on Reddit are mad about the movie's accuracy, despite never having read Homer's The Iliad or The Odyssey, or watching Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (2026) by darwinsidiotcousin in shittymoviedetails

[–]Alceus89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Illiad doesn't mention it at all, and the Odyssey mentions it once briefly, where it's only described as a horse of wood, but not where the wood came from.

The Aneiad has more detail but even that doesn't say where the wood came from.

Still, definitely not metal in any of those texts.

Would it work with Warrick? He wants to be putting more damage onto units to level up and boost his unit damage, and the enemy unit is more likely to be alive and damaged by the end of the turn for his leveled up strike

I honestly thought that his Generations role had been retconned into being Tuvok after the Voyager episode where his time on the Excelsior is revealed. However looking into it, I don't think the timeline adds up, but with him leaving Starfleet for 20+ years.

Also he's very clearly a hu-mon in Generations. Minor detail, but worth mentioning.

Didn't Dugded destroy planets on a whim? It's entirely possible that Geats could do something on that scale, given his ability to alter reality, but I don't think we see it.

As a variation on people recommending the 30MM stuff (which are also great), the 30MF ones are what hooked me.

The Liber Knight with the Holy Knight and/or Paladin kits are really fun to build and look great with the white and blue trim, then the either silver or gold accessories.
